I have earlier versions of these that use AA batteries. They work well. The idea of adding a rechargeable battery makes sense. I have had the AA battery units in my cars for years and then tested them and found the batteries were fine. But, it is possible they would have died after years in the trunk. The rechargeable battery could be recharged from the car battery using a cell phone charger (standard USB included). Even with a low battery that won't start a car, there's enough "juice" to run a cell phone or charge these.

I think the rechargeable concept is a good idea. Otherwise, these work as well as the previous models. In practical use, these things are bright! I have driven along the road and there was a car on the side of the road with at least 3 of these running that circular pattern. You would have to be blind not to see this from quite a distance. These are so much better and safer than the open-flame traditional road flares. And, these last far longer than the traditional road flare. Being magnetic and with a built-in plastic hook/hanger in the back, there are options for getting them up higher such as on your roof or on the back of your RV or trailer, for example.

For the cost of these things, I think it's a no-brainer to get them. And, the little case to hold them makes a difference. It's just easier, so go for that, too.

Short story: One time my alternator died and the battery ran down. The car died. I was stuck on a highway at night in a pelting rainstorm in a dark red car. My 3-way flashers would not even work. I figured at any moment, I would get rear-ended because there was almost no shoulder. It was one of the only times I ever called 911. They came out and set up some flares until the tow truck arrived. Thankfully. After that, I started carrying flares. That was years and years ago. Since then, these LED units were invented and I switched to those.

I have sets of 3 for each of my cars. Well worth the piece of mind, IMHO.

To date, these small devices have performed exceptionally well and function as advertised. The charging process is simple and straightforward, requiring no assembly. The light quality is excellent, providing a high level of brightness that is visible from a considerable distance. Although I anticipated the magnets to be somewhat stronger, they are sufficiently effective for attachment to a vehicle or trailer when necessary. The lights are highly visible at night and reasonably effective during daylight hours. Overall, I find them satisfactory.

These excellent emergency flashers are pretty well made stand up to a lot with one exception noted below. They are rechargeable, many of the cheaper versions are not, and those eat batteries. The packs can be set to solid color and various patterns, including the Morris code for “SOS.” There is also a white LED flashlight type option, and it is only mildly annoying that it flashes on as your cycle through and get your square in the face. It’s bright though and if you do need the white light like a flashlight, it’s handy.

The rubberized outer portion most helps hold them in place and protects the surface. They are placed on semicolon magnet on the back means they can be stuck many places, the hook means you can hang them in more others. All around a highly useful, highly versatile, highly recommended product.

And now the exception: The USB charging port is extremely fragile. It is attached directly to the interior circuit board without any apparent reinforcement, and it is extremely easy to accidentally break the charging port. Indeed, I had one puck arrived that was seemingly partly detached, and after the first charging, the charging port pulled out with the cable.

Since they had been a gift, it was well past the return limits.

Charge them gently, but definitely recommend this set. At this point our household has three or four sets.

These are small and pack into the very case easily. On the road, they are extremely bright and easily seen from a long way off, especially when they are on one of the flashing modes. It has modes to flash quickly, flash slowly and everything in between in the amber color and it also has a steady white light, too. There is a nice hanging hook built into each flare.

This is a repeat purchase for us; we have had some of these in the emergency kit in our cars for several years and are now gifting some to a young family member who just bought their first car. We are teaching them to place 2 of them approximately 10 feet from her car and to hang one of them from one of her car's door handles, too. We are also giving her some of the fluorescent triangles further out.

We highly recommend these road flares!

We own 5 total sets for 4 cars. 2-3 puck sets (one is for our Go bag), and 3-6 puck sets for our cars. Love how compace and bright they are. We're in rural iah America, so its nice to know we won't be settling any fires if we ever need them. Battery seems to last a long time, and charging is quick and easy. Very happy with my purchase(s), and now I just have to hope we never need to use them. But we're prepared if we do.

I wish i had found these sooner as our daughter who lives in a very metro area haha flat on a major freeway, and had nothing in her car, could have used them. She was 25, and alone on a major freeway. Thankfully a good Samaritan stopped to help her, but it would've been nice for her to have these. Safer for everyone. If there's a next time.

I am very happy with this purchase. Their light intensity is excellent and makes them extremely visible and effective in real-world situations.

The carrying case is very well designed and custom-fitted. Each unit stays firmly in place, so nothing moves or rattles around. This makes storage and transport very convenient.

The magnet is strong and holds securely to the vehicle. Additionally, the built-in hook is surprisingly useful. You can hang it from the hood when working on the engine, or from the trunk if it’s open, which adds a lot of versatility beyond just roadside signaling.

It works as intended but for the price feels very cheap and plasticsy. Thought it would be much sturdier.

Love this product!! Comes in a great carry case. Bright colours and lights with differing flashing patterns to make it highly visible. Battery lasts well. Has a soft and durable exterior and is magnetic.

Excellent! Portable and well packaged with its 3-into-1 USB cable to charge the units simultaneously. The waterproof silicon seal at the USB charge input makes the units much more water resistant.

I've only been able to use these strobes a few times so far, but I am quite impressed. I had an 11 hour shift and the 3 strobes ran non-stop for the entire 11 hours and were still flashing bright when I clocked out. I use the magnet and attach the 3 strobes to the side of my service truck that is facing the road. I service gas dispensers 24/7 and I'm constantly dodging inpatient drivers who want to refuel and get home. I definitely noticed a difference in the driver's attitudes once I had these strobes flashing on my service truck. If you're going to be using them a lot, you'll want to make sure you avoid the strobes that take the 3 tripple A batteries. These are recharged via USB and will save you the headache of buying and swapping batteries. I love these strobes and will be buying another set soon.
