Product does NOT lock to the mounting plate (update: maybe it can)
The description says it has two locking pins, one for the battery compartment and one to lock the detector onto the mounting plate. Although 2 locking pins are provided, there is only a locking hole (the one for the battery compartment). For the locking pin for the mounting plate the directions say "insert the locking pin into the lock located on the pivoting hinge of the battery compartment". NO SUCH LOCATION EXISTS! I cannot lock the detector to its mounting plate. Update: there seems to be a hole (see second photo) which a locking pin can drop into. It is NOT by the hinge. So this may work.
