I got the 16L size. With backpacks, I usually need a size small, as I’m right at 15 inches from my waist to my shoulder. For reference when looking at the photos, I’m 5’3” and 225 pounds.

Once I adjusted all the straps to my liking, I found the pack very comfortable. I have another smaller Osprey backpack, and I have found Osprey to be the best brand I’ve ever worn.

Cons:

I wish the water bladder part was a separate zipper compartment for an added layer of protecting my stuff from moisture

I wish there was a magnetic piece on the upper strap that my water hose could connect to, like my other Osprey backpack

Honestly, great SMALL pack for “hiking” - terrible…for work. Nothing wrong with pack at all, just don’t think (like me) it’s good for carrying your computer, pens, lunch etc.

This pack is made of quality materials, as you’d expect from Osprey. However, the fit is a miss. The main zippered compartment has a weirdly shaped opening at the top which makes the pack look odd when wearing it. Additionally, the waste straps are not removable and the sternum strap locks do not stay secured well. I was hyped for this Hikelite relaunch because of the Hikelite series’ awesome airscape suspension frame (which lets your back breathe well). Sadly, that was the only thing designed correctly on this pack.

I’ve been testing the Osprey Hikelite LT 30L in Cascade Blue for over a month now and it’s a stellar example of "less is more" for actual hikers. The first thing you notice is the weight or lack thereof. At just about two pounds, it feels almost weightless before you load it up. The standout feature is definitely the AirSpeed suspension. It uses a LightWire frame and a mesh trampoline backpanel that creates a real gap between the pack and your back. This design is a total game-changer for keeping you cool during those steep uphill climbs.

The storage layout is a bit more minimalist than other Osprey daypacks. You get two massive side mesh pockets that could probably fit a gallon jug if you really tried, and a vertical zippered front pocket that’s perfect for keys or a map. It also comes with a bright rainfly tucked into the bottom, which is a nice "extra" that usually costs more with other brands. The horseshoe-shaped main opening makes it easy to get to your gear, though it can feel a little tight if you overstuff it.

While it's an incredible hiking bag, it’s definitely not a "do-it-all" pack. If your looking for something to double as a work bag, this isn't it. There isn't much internal organization for pens or small tech, and the unpadded sleeve inside is better for a hydration bladder than a laptop. Also, the string closure on the main pouch takes a bit of a "sharp tug" to open, which can be a litte awkward until you get the hang of it.

If your after a high-performance, ultralight bag that prioritizes ventilation and comfort on the trail, you really can't beat the quality here. It’s built like a tank despite being so light, and the blue color is absolutely stunning in person. Just keep it on the trails and out of the boardroom!

I was drawn to this backpack because I really liked the purpe color scheme. At 16L size, this bag is great for travel, it is the perfect personal item size for a flight. I paired this bag with a 40L fairview bag as my carry-on item and was able to skip any baggage fees. The materials and zippers are super nice quality. The trampoline mesh helps keep the sweat off of your back when you're on longer hikes. On thing that wasn't my favorite was that the straps slip a little when taking on and off. The shoulder padding is nice and the chest strap kept the bag in place when it was loaded down. The straps are easy to adjust and customize to your body shape.

The bag is compatible with hydration packs. I use a Camelbak one and it fits nicely in the laptop slot and has a hole for the tube to come out. On the outside of the bag there are two mesh water bottle pockets or you can shove a packable jacket in there if you don't need them because of the hydration pack. It's got a nice deep front pocket for easy acess to smaller thing items. The built in rain cover saved the day while hiking, I had totally forgotten about it until the skies opened up during a hike and my spouse reminded me there was a rain cover built into the pack.

Pro: Incredibly light

Con: material is low quality, not very durable for a $120

I bought a different Osprey bag and compared the two and this one is just not durable.

Osprey’s Daylite 35L carry-on travel pack ($130) is a better alternative.

I took this on a winter hike recently. Its honestly a decent value backpack.

- Light weight

- Has water bottle pockets on both sides

- Airflow cage on the back to reduce heat

- Even though it has a rain cover, its still water resistant to snow without it

- Lack of compartments on the inside can make organization messy, but it is a small bag so it's whatever

- Pack feels good quality

I'd say for day hikes and short hikes this is good value. If you need to pack a lot of things you might run into storage limitations quickly. But for anything else this is really good value!
