There is no kind way to start this review so I'm just going to be blunt because you deserve blunt in mattress buying - it is SO important to be clear because a good/bad mattress GREATLY impacts your life! So here we go with the blunt - are you ready?! We're short, fat people. No. Really! About 100lbs overweight each. Don't judge - we have our reasons & I'm not sharing to open myself up to ridicule + with the New Year we are committed to losing! So why do you need to know we're fat, short people?! So you will know that because of our sizes we have really put this mattress through a workout since we bought it in August...and it is FABULOUS!!! I'm a side then move to back sleeper & my husband is a back sleeper & we both sleep like the dead in this bed! The bed is NOT hot, when we climb in (hello- we're short gotta climb!) we can tell there are springs, but when we lay down we don't feel them (no poking, etc.), and overall our bodies just feel well supported in a not too firm way! To think we bought this as a temporary bed - just to have since we moved 2200 miles & weren't taking our old mattress with us. We figured after we found a house to buy we'd upgrade - found the house faster than we planned & now this bed is coming from our temporary apartment to our house!!! With the outlay of so much money updating the house it's nice to not have to invest in a new bed!

Just to give you a comparison - previously we had the Lucid 10" (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00478U768/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1) which at the time we spent $349 on & is now priced at $287 as it should rightfully be priced less than this bed because the Lucid SUCKED! It was comfortable for about the first 6 months & then it started forming a divot in the shape of our bodies & gotta say - even when you are the person making the divot you still don't want a fat person divot in your bed! The Lucid was also REALLY hot - we would sweat on a winter's night while it was raining outside & the inside of our house was never warmed to more than 68°F! The divot also affected smoochy-smoochy time (divots are REALLY not conducive to that!). We kept the Lucid for about 18 months after we were both disgruntled with it because we knew we were moving & wanted to move small. For the last 6 months I didn't even sleep with my husband. I slept in this recliner (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002WGJHHW/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1) in the living room & got WAY better sleep in a cheapo (yet fabulous) recliner that's NOT made for fat people than I ever did in the Lucid!

Bottomline - this fat lady has sung! Mattress buying is over! If we need another mattress at some point we'll be buying this one again! Already decided to buy the Queen size for our guest room & the 8" Twin for our children! I feel like Oprah - guests get a Zinus, children get a Zinus, everyone (in our family) gets a Zinus! Now that you're done reading my review - YOU go get yourself a Zinus!!!

It’s a cheap mattress but it’s pretty comfortable. Doesn’t cause me any major aches or pains.

It’s super quiet (not that I participate in squeaky bed activities) but I’ve had beds that talk back when I’m just trying to get comfortable while scrolling TikTok. This mattress doesn’t disrespect me like that. Not a peep when I’m tossing and turning to get into just the right spot.

It never fully expanded but that’s because I didn’t give it enough time to. It was either sleep on the half formed mattress or the floor. It wasn’t a hard decision for me and I have zero regrets that it never had a chance to grow to it’s fullest potential. Guess it should’ve pulled up it’s bootstraps and worked harder.

Lastly, I sleep in every position. Back, side and stomach. This bed works for all. When I’m on my side, my arm doesn’t go numb. Win. When I’m on my back, my lower back and hips only give a slight whimper of discomfort but they quickly get with the picture and remember this mattress cost less than $200. When I lay on my stomach, I feel fine and safe in the world (so maybe this bed is actually best for stomach sleepers).

Onto the cons: I only have one. It holds heat like a furnace. I’m sweating so much in my sleep now. I got my hair done the day after I purchased this mattress. $125 to look like chucky the next morning. That one cut me deep.

Overall, I do recommend this mattress and if I had to do it all over again…I wouldn’t get my hair done and then sleep with it out and flowing (pretending to be some type of Sleeping Beauty) on this mattress. There’s something so hurtful about falling asleep looking like a pretty princess and waking up the star of a horror film. That’s why I rate this mattress 3.5 stars. I can’t forgive anyone (or thing) that’s messes up my fresh blowout.

(TLDR; I would rebuy the mattress if I could afford nothing else. If I could afford better, I would go down that route instead because my hair is more important to me than saving a few coins purchasing a cheaper but seemingly heated mattress)

I’ve now had this bed for over a year! Changed my review to 4 stars. I was wrong about it sleeping hot. It doesn’t. I believe it felt like it was hot before because I was using polyester sheets 😬. I’m now team 100% cotton and it’s never felt hot since.

Mattress is still going strong. I literally rot in my bed for hours a day when I have nothing going on and it’s so comfortable to do that. No body pains when I get up. There is some denting in the middle from my bed rotting but nothing crazy. It hasn’t taken away from the comfort.

Overall, great bed. Definitely recommend!

We’re almost 3 years deep. Still going strong. Still doing what it needs to do. I’ll never regret buying this bed and I’ll be a little sad when we finally part. But for now, I’ll continue to get good sleep and enjoy my bed rotting.

Oh my goodness! I am so pleased with this mattress! I got it early, which was nice. It was delivered by UPS,and I am grateful that they were good enough to bring it to the top step outside my front door. It was raining, but it was well packaged. I got it upstairs ( no easy fete, as I'm 5 ft 2 and am slightly older- don't ask! 😉 ) I noticed on the outside of the box that the mattress should be unpacked within 72 hours ( for proper inflation, I think? ) I'd bought a twin in this brand before, but hadn't noticed that piece of information. The twin, BTW, was also a great purchase. Some reviews aren't as favorable as mine, and I wonder if that piece of unpacking info might be a factor. It's a good idea, regardless.

In any event, this mattress will be left for proper and full inflation before I put it on the bed (that's due, tomorrow.) Hopefully that will be reviewed as favorably as this mattress.

This mattress is just the right firmness and is soft to the touch. It is a very nice product, and I am so glad I bought it. I definitely recommend it! ( make sure you pay attention to that 72 hour caveat, though. I don't think they would include it if it didn't matter. ) The funny little warning advisory was appreciated, too. " Hand this to the responsible one... It knows Kung Fu." I have quick reflexes, as well, so... 😉 The price point was excellent, too. Very much appreciated! UPDATE: I've had this for a bit and unfortunately, my initial enthusiasm has lessened. Still a nice enough mattress, but has minimal side support. I'm going to put it in my second bedroom on the bed I also got from Amazon ( too masculine ) and have ordered a fuller and hopefully a firmer mattress. This was a 10 inch, and that was my mistake. In order to get the height, I ended up buying a 3 inch memory foam and two ( supposedly ) 4 inch mattress toppers. All in, they might equal the 12 inch that I finally ordered. Zinus is a good product, but if you want better side supports and a taller mattress, order one from the start. It turned out to be an expensive lesson.

I bought the 6 inch foam and a spring hybrid mattress. It's fine so far. I've only had it for a few days, so there really hasn't been time for problems to develop. If any do, I'll change my review.

Some of the reviewers wrote that they rotated the mattress, flipping it over, and were shocked that they could feel the springs. This is a bad mistake. You really can't flip hybrid foam mattresses over. You can only sleep on the soft side. Don't do what they did.

Some reviewers wrote about a terible smell. There is absolutely zero smell from the one that I bought. I was expecting some offgassing so I opened it up in a basement room that had good ventilation, but if there was any offgassing, it did not have a fragrance at all.

Regarding the firmness, some people like really firm mattresses, and other people don't; this one is firm, which makes it perfect for me so far. Then again, I'm not sleeping on it every night. I'm using it as a little daybed that I take naps on now and then and use for a little red therapy booth that I set up. (I do, though, doze off under the red lights.)

I suspect that the people who have reported problems with this type of mattress are the ones who started sleeping on it after only 24 hours or 48 hours… It is really best to wait the full 72 hours for it to fully inflate. You have to wait for it to unfurl then carefully cut off the inner plastic without cutting into the mattress; then set it somewhere where it can continue expanding for a while.

It’s an ok bed. Would be ok for a kid I think but it’s not well made enough for an adult. It doesn’t have good edge support and you can feel and hear how cheap the underlay is on the mattress when getting in and out of bed. It’s harder than I thought it would be. I wouldn’t buy it again.

Please do not listen to the bad reviews that they say this doesn't fit its a buyer error and try to blame it to the seller they order this narrow twin but they needed twin mattress they are 2 completely different sizes...just make sure check the size you needed..this mattress is perfect I ordered the narrow twin..

Nice and firm mattress. I'm 6'4, 275lbs and this mattress offers good support and comfort from head to toe. I have it set up on a simple metal base and the feel is firm/extra firm imo. At least in the 8in version. Even at my size and weight I do not sink into this mattress, there is no sagging, and its easy to move about on. You truly sleep atop this mattress and not in it, so to speak. The padding is responsive, the springs feel strong, it feels quality so far as a bed in a box is concerned. Very satisfied with this purchase and if in want of a FIRM mattress this may be for you. YMMV, of course. What is firm for me may be less so for some, too firm for others. But for me its excellent. Oh, and that includes very good edge support. Lay at the edge, sit at the edge, whatever. It will not collapse, you won't go rolling off. Exceedingly happy with this mattress.

Worst for body posture

My left leg was hurting everyday because previous bed was too soft so when I sleep I would notice the arm would be numb some times. After buying this bed and only 3 days of sleeping on it , I notice all these problems went away. The bed is semi firm so it perfect for what my back needs. Thank you do much because of your bed im not in pain at eork anymore
