Installed this in my Class C motorhome today and what an amazing difference! We scanned the available stations and were delighted to find eighteen in our home area. This antenna actually exceeded our expectations.

Quality of product: the mechanism is metal and plastic and has a good solid feel to it. The gears are plastic and worked very smoothly for raising and lowering the antenna, the connections and cables are excellent quality.

Ease of installation: the antenna was attached to the base in less than a minute and, since this was an upgrade of an older Winegard antenna, it was easy to swap it out. The amplifier box was a straightforward installation. The only difficulties I encountered were running new cable and tapping into a 12v circuit for the amplifier, but I would have had that with any antenna.

Although I have had this antenna on my rv for less than a day, I am very pleased with the smooth operation and ability to bring in distant signals. We use this with our Panasonic Viera 32inch HD TV and the previously splotchy signals are now solid and reliable. If you have an older Winegard and want to see a dramatic improvement in signal strength and quality, this is the one to buy. Don't waste your time on quick fixes.

The antenna did and performed flawlessly. Within our first month of the install I saved over 50 gigs of data from my cellular hot spot plan, by just being able to view the four most important local channels we wanted. Because I have a new RV, I did not want to mess up on the install. The RV has a bit of a curved roof to channel rain water away from the roof and I did not realize it would require a wedge that Winegard sells separately. After all was said and done, this is a great investment and for those willing to go thru a bit of trouble getting it installed right, I would have to say get it!

Bought this HD Antenna to replace the OEM one on my 05 Motorhome. I was a little skeptical at first, but was pleasantly surprised right away. This Antenna is made to be an exact replacement for Winegard original Antenna and can be easily swapped out. I was able to transfer all new parts to my existing Antenna, with exception of the crank mechanism, the roof mount and the Coax Cable itself. After installing, I turned on the TV and the Antenna found over 100 HD and SD stations which all came in perfectly. I LOVE IT !

The Winegard RVW-395 Sensar IV White DTV/HD TV Antenna was purchased to replace an already broken one on our RV, and installation was easy. The directions included with the antenna were easy to follow with the step-by-step guidelines and, luckily enough, fit the holes from the previous antenna without too much re-drilling of new holes, hence less mess and less work.

The reason for the four star review is because the gears are still made of plastic. I know that practically all of the RV antennae on the market are supplied with plastic gears and, if you're not careful, they can strip out.

At least now we can get more TV stations when we go camping, and the signal does come in strongly, but it does depend on where we are located within the campground. As with most of these things, your mileage may vary. When we're parked in our driveway, we do get more TV channels than we ever do at our favorite campground as would be expected.

I have been selling and installing local antennas since he big dish days. Winegard use to make a home version of this antenna. But stoped 6 months ago. So I now buy this replacement antenna for an rv. Then smash the small end of a 10 ft top rail chain link fence pole to fit in it. Put it 4-5 feet above a house and it works great.

Remember this is an amplified antenna does not come with a power supply like the home version did. So I buy the directv model PI 21 power supply to power it up.

The antenna was a direct replacement for the one on my 2014 Salem Cruise lite. Two pins with snap rings were included. The installation took less than five minutes.

I live in a rural area about 35 miles from the local TV broadcast towers. My house is on a hill and it's two story with a second story porch on the same side as the TV broadcast antennas.

I've been trying to "cut the cord" for the last couple years and have tried using several different indoor & outdoor antennas "rated" at 55 to 75 miles. This RV antenna was the ONLY antenna that provided reliable reception on all of my local channels.

The only issue I have is that I can't find a residential mount for it. The RV mount that came with it is of no use for my installation, so I've mounted it directly on Mr porch railings. I recommend Winegard come up with some optional mounts for home users since this is a GREAT antenna as long as you use the amplifier that comes with it. I first tried using the Winegard amplifier with the signal strength readout I had been using with a different antenna, but it didn't work as well as the Winegard amplifier that came with the antenna without the signal strength meter.

works as good as the original one I took off, I like that it is black as it now matches the RV better. My old one stopped working, I dont know why, not much to them. Range is not great, I am thinking of getting a better one. It is perfect as a factory replacement.
