Quality Steel/Easy Setup
Reviewed in the United States on April 2, 2026While this 24 inch size is still portable, it also looks impressive for use at home on a patio or deck for gatherings. It's the legs rather than the ring at the bottom that makes the difference for me. People already have commented on how good it looks and on the amount of heat it puts out, even when it's in the 40's outside! Loving it so far. Wish they included a hard metal lid for it. Had to buy that separately through another vendor. The vinyl cover is at least something. Vendor shipping box is also excellent with a heavy duty box and styrofoam inserts to cradle it.

Anniversary Present for the Wife. She LOVES it.
Reviewed in the United States on October 12, 2020My wife wanted a fire pit for a long time and unfortunately our residence only allows Propane Fire Pits. This thing is ridiculously easy to set up and is as easy as taking it out of the box, opening and dumping out a few backs of Lava Rock, attaching it to a Propane take and lighting it. Like the instructions say, it does take about 10 minutes for the rocks to heat up and the flames to come into full effect. My wife absolutely loves it and it puts out a pretty good deal of heat. Obviously not as much as a wood burning fire pit, but much more than I was actually expecting. Definitely enough to keep you warm. The other advantage is the convince. No ash, no wood to carry and no smelling like a camp fire the next day. Im not saying I don't love that smell, I do. But that's kind of the point, this thing isn't designed to replace a camp fire. Out of everywhere we looked, both in stores and online, this was hands down the BEST value and size for the price. Flames are a nice decent size and sitting back in a chair at dusk, it really does look like a real fire. Portability and carrying are super easy. It's not exactly light, but it's definitely not heavy either. I'd say maybe 15-20lbs tops.

Just like a wood campfire without the smoke!
Reviewed in the United States on October 10, 2022As others have mentioned, I am a wood campfire kind of guy and in the past I would have never considered one of these. That being said, I was complaining to my buddy that I was certain that the county I hunt in would enact a burn ban just days before bow season was to begin. He raved about the Firebowl and said he was certain that I would appreciate it in place of a wood campfire. I was a bit skeptical but the thought of hunting and camping for 2-3 days without a campfire was depressing and took away some of excitement associated with opening weekend. I went ahead and pulled the trigger on the largest unit and it was delivered quickly and intact just two days before the season was to start. Sure enough, the county issued the burn ban that I feared so I was relieved that I had made my purchase. Reading the fine print on the burn ban, personal propane BBQ's were allowed. Between that and reading other reviews on how this gets around campfire bans in the mountains, I figured I was within the law.
The first night of the hunt I started the Firebowl and just as my friend had said, the Firebowl produced a beautiful flame, provided heat for warmth and cooking dinner with no issues. I have run the unit on low for several hunts for a total of 6 hours or so with no noticeable weight change in my propane tank so it will be easy on the fuel I expect. Another big plus is there is no smoke which is a big deal to me being mindful of odors. And of course, when you turn it off, it's off and cools down quickly. I place my Firebowl in the fire ring normally reserved for a wood campfire as shown in the picture above. I probably won't go back to a wooden fire after this experience. I highly recommend the Firebowl.

they’ll ship them all like this from now on
Reviewed in the United States on December 2, 2014This was shipped by Amazon it its original box only. When it arrived I saw a big gash on the box. Sure enough, when I opened it there was a major dent in the rim of the firebowl. I immediately called the manufacturer, because the instructions say to call them first before returning it to the retailer. Well they told me to go ahead and contact Amazon for a replacement. I did the return online and it came today. This time the box was placed inside another box with some paper stuffing to protect the inner box. When I opened the box there was no damage. Hopefully, they’ll ship them all like this from now on.
This firepit works very well and puts out a lot of heat. The key to getting maximum heat is to make sure that you scatter the small rocks at the very bottom of the bowl. When you start laying the large rocks, do not set them too close to the gas ring. You don’t want to obstruct the holes at all. This will allow the flames to cascade around the larger rocks creating a high flame of 4 - 10 inches. If you let the rocks get too close to the holes the flames won’t be as high. The key is to create a circular tunnel of large rocks over the fire ring.
Another bonus is the plastic cover that comes with it. The instructions say to keep it out of the rain and to put it away during rainy weather. Well, I’m too lazy to lug it into the garage every time it rains. When I put the cover on it I was surprised that it covered the whole thing, even the flame-shaped holes on the side. You definitely don’t need to move it inside when it’s raining once the cover is protecting it.
I wasn’t keen on the aesthetics of a 20 lb. propane tank sitting out in the open so I also got this deck box to store it in. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00013BUW8/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o07_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I had to cut out a circle in the bottom so that the tank would fit since the tank is too tall. Now I have a nice looking storage box to house the tank and also to serve as a nice side table. There’s enough room inside to store the firepit cover, a cushion or two, or whatever. There’s a small gap between the bottom and the patio for the hose to fit into so that the hose threads up through the bottom, which you have cut out, and into the tank.
Overall, an awesome fire pit. I used it on Thanksgiving night for several hours and didn’t see the gauge on my tank move very much.
Update 9/2/15: Still loving this fire pit. I replaced the light weight l lava rocks with regular red lava rocks from my local rock/masonry supplier. Very cheap way to go and the rocks will last forever unlike the ones that are supplied. I'm also adding a picture of the Rubbermaid Brute 44 gallon trash can lid which I use to provide a solid rain cover. It costs only $16 right now for the black one. https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B005KD0U16/ref=mobile_oh_details_?ie=UTF8&psc=1#

It's almost good as it gets for the size.
Reviewed in the United States on December 4, 2022Heat output is really good, with no breezes. Constant wind is a no go. Works good under the covered deck. Its comfy out with this thing on December 4th in Ky .
No real assembly needed. I would say to strategically build your rock pile for optimal flames though.
Maneuverability is good, easy to move where and when you need, get the bag.... comes with the cover as you'll need it to keep the rocks in while moving in the bag.
Few things I did not like while exploring though
1) Most fire rings have a central hook up and this does not which means if the rings gets worn there is no replacement or upgrades , so check the site and contact customer service to see if there are replacements.
2) This has a pressure switch. Must maintain a certain amount of pressure in order to function. Which also means buying a nice 150k BTU air mixture valve to get your flames higher and hotter wont work. You could but you would be Frankensteining it.
Its worth the buy ... It will get its use and long-term durability is still on question
It is made of good material and is a better buy than a 300 pit table which are not made for actual winter use.

Fire lovers only! Very cozy
Reviewed in the United States on July 18, 2023Great for small deck area and backyards. I love a good fire pit vibe. I usually go for the wood fire pit but we now have a smaller back deck area and this is perfect. Easy to set up. It came with a nozzle for the propane tank, the heating rocks for the fire, and a top cover for the fire pit when not in use.
We set it up the first day and started burning right away. We went to the Home Depot for a propane tank for $60 and lit the fire without any problems. Highly recommend. It’s safe, easy to use, and perfect for any area. Smokeless and stylish. Full fire with high flames, very cozy.
Thanks, MzTU

Sal SCAGLIONE5 out of 5 starsGreat product
Reviewed in Canada on November 22, 2025When I received the pit I only opened it in order to ensure all the parts were there, which they were. I didn’t set it up as I was waiting the the natural gas converstion kit to arrive. Today I finally removed the propane apparatus with hose and installed the converstion kit, which was so simple. I placed the rocks in and attached the hose to my natural gas. It forked like a charm no issue great heat and now no more worries that I will need to continue to fill up propane tanks in order to use the fire pit. The fire pit is really well constructed and works do well. Personally I feel that all outside heater etc need to be easily converted to natural gas. Not sure if they all are but why not.

Steve5 out of 5 starsImpressive fire pit alternative
Reviewed in Canada on August 12, 2024Who would make a great product to replace wood burning fire pits during a summers worth of fire bans. A company in Surrey BC built the perfect efficient alternative to wood burning fire pits and I was impressed with the quality of the product and the amount of heat and realistic flame this unit produces. We can use it anywhere, anytime and light enough to toss into the vehicle and bring along on picnics, day trips and of course our camping. No more carrying large amounts of wood, or dealing with smoke and sparks. This fire pit looks realistic and with all the accessories you can buy to enhance your experience it is well worth it.
This unit comes with 10’ of hose which rolls up and sits on top of the bowl and a nice waterproof, fireproof cover that conceals everything for transport.
We absolutely love this fire pit…Made In Canada, to combat the fire bans we have to endure every summer!!!

This unit comes with 10’ of hose which rolls up and sits on top of the bowl and a nice waterproof, fireproof cover that conceals everything for transport.
We absolutely love this fire pit…Made In Canada, to combat the fire bans we have to endure every summer!!!

SJN4 out of 5 starsVery nice unit....be careful how much you pay for it!
Reviewed in Canada on November 3, 2020Have had this unit for a few weeks, assembly was simple, including conversion to NG. Initially flame looked more like my gas stove, very blue, not very aesthetically pleasing (see pics). While this is a very good combustion setup of air to fuel, I wanted the more orange/yellow look, similar to my 2 indoor gas fireplaces. Easy fix, just loosen screw and close air intake screen just behind control knob. This also reduces the sound of rushing gas. Note, this is for NG conversion only.
It really is a good unit but doesn’t give off as much heat as you’d expect, so I’ve ordered a vertical patio heater to supplement.
Dislikes:
- cover looks great, fits well. It is NOT waterproof. We’ve had lot of rain in recent weeks and rocks became saturated. Can’t imagine this will be good when temperatures start to freeze. So an alternative is imperative.
- Pricing! Originally saw this unit for $197. Discussed with family before buying, an hour later $214, which I payed. Couple days ago a friend said he’d be interested in buying one. I sent him info last night, listed at $185. This morning it’s $189?
Called Amazon Prime cs, couldn’t wouldn’t do anything. I literally have to order lower price unit and return the higher price one. No cost to me. Makes no sense but I save $30 or 15+%. And someone will be out a lot of shipping $$$. And sadly I won’t even take the new one out of the box, just stick the return label and take it to PO.
If Outland reaches out to me on this, I’ll be happy to revise this review. Stay tuned...
