Remember WEN?
We've been designing and distributing high-quality and affordable power tools for decades. Founded by Nick Anton back in 1951, WEN originally made its mark by helping bring tools and electricity together (putting the power into power tools). Our research and development team played a vital role in helping to develop a variety of common everyday tools such as the chainsaw, the electric soldering gun, the electric jigsaw, the electric engraver, and the knife and wet wheel sharpeners. WEN even pioneered random orbital technology – the technology seen in most polishers, waxers, and buffers today that gives cars everywhere the streak-free shine they deserve.
Since then, our expertise has expanded to encompass a wide variety of products, including drill presses, lathes, bench grinders, nailers, miter saws, hand tools, generators, and cordless power tools, to name a few. By 2001, only 50 years after our humble beginnings, we had already sold over 50 million consumer units. By 2021, we had sold nearly 80 million. Today, WEN's headquarters can be found in West Dundee, Illinois. Our goal is to help woodworkers, DIYers, and artisans across the world execute their wildest imaginations.
Woodworking
Since 1951, WEN has been helping woodworkers complete projects of all shapes and sizes with our extensive line of benchtop, handheld, and floorstanding woodworking tools.
Generators
Whether you're on the job, at home, or out camping, let power be one less thing you have to worry about. Our vast line of inverter, dual fuel, and traditional gas-powered generators means we have the exact wattage and feature combination for any application.
20V Battery System
Power your life with the WEN 20V Max Battery System. Any of our 20V batteries are cross-compatible with all of the products in our always-expanding line of WEN 20V handheld tools.
Lawn and Garden
We don't just stop at helping you in the shop. Let WEN take the work out of yard work. From pressure washers, to maintenance equipment, to log splitters, WEN has you covered for every season of the year.
Product Description
Remember when you had clean and quiet portable power? The WEN 3600-Watt Inverter Generator provides clean energy, free of voltage spikes and drops, without all the noise of a regular generator. Produce up to 3600 surge watts and 2900 rated watts of power on gasoline, or connect a propane tank using the tool-free quick-connector for up to 3500 surge watts and 2600 rated watts of power on LPG. The WEN Watchdog CO Shutdown Sensor helps protect both you and your family by automatically turning off the generator if dangerous levels of carbon monoxide are detected. Our 149cc engine operates at a modest 65 decibels at quarter load. This limits its invasiveness while camping, hunting, tailgating, and restoring backup power. The WEN 3600W Inverter Generator is also equipped with fuel shutoff. This feature turns off the flow of fuel, allowing for the generator to use up the remaining fuel from the carburetor before automatically shutting down. This helps fight the build-up and blockages caused by stagnant fuel inside of the carburetor, minimizing maintenance while prolonging the unit’s lifespan. Designed to mirror a pure sine wave, this generator limits total harmonic distortion to under 0.3 percent at no load and under 1.2 percent at full load, making it safe to run laptops, cellphones, monitors, tablets and other sensitive electronics. The lightweight 49-pound design makes for easy portability while the ultra-efficient 1.5-gallon tank provides up to 5 hours of half-load run time (or 14 hours half-load run time on a 20-pound LPG tank). The fully-packed panel comes equipped with two three-prong 120V NEMA 5-20R receptacles, one 12V DC receptacle, one 120V TT-30R RV receptacle, and two 5V USB ports. Maximize fuel economy by engaging the eco-mode switch. This allows the generator's engine to automatically adjust its fuel consumption as items are plugged into and unplugged from the panel, preventing the unnecessary usage of gasoline. Need more energy? Easily link up any two WEN inverter generators using a WEN Parallel Connection Kit (sold separately) in order to share wattage amongst multiple units. Low-oil and low-fuel automatic shutdown combine with the built-in overload protection and indicator lights to safeguard both your generator and your electronics from damage. And because this is a WEN Product, your inverter generator comes backed by a 3-year limited warranty, a nationwide network of skilled service technicians and a friendly customer helpline. Remember when your generator powered your electronics safely and quietly? Remember WEN.

Reliable backup for my 28ft camper during winter outages
Top reviews from the United States
- 5 out of 5 stars
Good generator and a competitive price.
Reviewed in the United States on March 23, 2026This is a great generator that’s reasonably light weight (~50 lb).It starts easily on gas or propane and runs quietly. The sound level is acceptable as a backup generator in a neighborhood. It’s much quieter than a traditional generator such as the Colman Powermate or a lawn mower. The sound is of a low frequency making it much more acceptable. Inside it appears to be well assembled, all the wires and flex lines are neatly routed. I did not see any oil leaks after the break in. There is one panel for volts, frequency, runtime (per session and total) as well as a % utilization of watts in 25% increments and well as an electronic fuel gauge. The only negative I had was that both 20 amp outlets to not hold the plug firmly. This seems to be an issue with this generator as several plugs, from different manufacturers, fitted loosely. I would recommend this generator.

WEN 3600iX Inverter Generator: First‑Run and Break‑In Performance Review
Reviewed in the United States on February 27, 2026The WEN 3600iX delivered a stronger first‑run experience than expected, performing smoothly from initial startup through a full hour of load testing. The generator started immediately on the first pull after setting the choke, transitioned cleanly to the RUN position, and settled into a stable idle without hesitation. For a brand‑new engine, the responsiveness and ease of operation stood out.
Startup and Initial Operation
The generator’s first ignition was straightforward and reliable. After switching the fuel on and applying choke, the engine fired up quickly and required no additional adjustments. Once warmed, it maintained a steady, consistent tone that indicated proper combustion and stable inverter output. This behavior suggests the unit is well‑tuned from the factory and ready for practical use without extensive tinkering.
Noise Level and Usability
Noise output was notably low for a generator in this wattage class. At close range, the sound is present but controlled; stepping away even a short distance reduces it to a background hum. Indoors, it was only faintly audible in the kitchen, and even then it was unobtrusive. This makes the 3600iX suitable for emergency home use, outdoor work, or social settings where excessive noise would be a problem.
Load Handling and Performance
During the break‑in and load test, the generator powered a space heater and a fan simultaneously. The heater alone drew approximately 1500 watts, and even when set to full output alongside the fan, the generator’s load meter remained at half capacity. There were no signs of strain, surging, or voltage instability. This indicates the inverter module and engine are capable of maintaining clean, reliable power under real‑world conditions with room to spare for additional devices.
Fuel Consumption
Fuel efficiency during the test was consistent with expectations for an inverter generator at moderate load. Less than half of a one‑gallon container was used over the course of the hour‑long test. The engine exhibited no leaks, no fuel odor, and no signs of running overly rich or lean. This level of consumption suggests the generator will perform well during extended emergency use.
Shutdown and Storage Preparation
After testing, the fuel shutoff was engaged and the generator was allowed to run until it stalled, ensuring the carburetor was fully drained. Once cooled, the tank was emptied. Although a small amount of fuel naturally remains at the bottom, this is normal and does not pose a hazard. With the tank essentially empty and the carburetor dry, the generator is safe for storage in a semi‑ventilated carport storage room. This approach minimizes fire risk, prevents vapor buildup, and protects the carburetor from varnish or clogging during periods of inactivity.
Overall Assessment
The WEN 3600iX performed exceptionally well during its first start and break‑in period. It demonstrated reliable ignition, quiet operation, stable power delivery, efficient fuel use, and straightforward maintenance procedures. For users seeking a dependable inverter generator for emergencies, outdoor work, or occasional recreational use, this model offers strong value and confidence‑inspiring performance.

Powerful and Portable Dual Fuel Inverter Generator for RVs 🚍⚡
Reviewed in the United States on October 18, 2025This generator is a game-changer for anyone who loves road trips in their RV. Let me tell you, this bad boy is not only super quiet but also surprisingly lightweight for its power. With 3600 watts, you can run all your essential appliances and electronics without any issues. The best part? It's dual fuel, so you can switch between gas and propane based on your preference or availability. One thing to note is the CO Watchdog feature, which is a lifesaver for safety-conscious campers. It automatically shuts off the generator if it detects unsafe carbon monoxide levels, giving you peace of mind during your outdoor adventures. The only minor downside is that it can get a bit pricey compared to other models, but trust me, the quality and performance are worth every penny. Don't think twice about investing in the WEN DF360iX if you want reliable power on the go! 🔋🔌

Great machine, a lot of features.
Reviewed in the United States on February 28, 2026I ordered this generator at the beginning of February 2026. When it arrived one of the corners of the box was damaged. I opened it up to find the generator undamaged (packaging was very good) but the regulator for the propane hose was broken. I started a warranty claim with WEN. They needed all the usual information about the order and the serial number of the machine which I provided. Wen sent me a replacement hose and regulator assembly at no cost.
The generator itself seems to be very high quality. It's fully assembled out of the box, all you have to do is add fuel and oil. I've finished the break in period of 8 hours and have just over 12 on it now. So far it hasn't missed a beat. I'm impressed with how compact and lightweight it is for the output it provides. So far I haven't noticed any smoke or oil loss and it always starts on the first or second pull. I'm also impressed with the amount of features such as the info display and USB ports that a lot of much more expensive brands don't offer.

Buy it!
Reviewed in the United States on May 8, 2025Finally pulled the trigger on this after many months of watching reviews between this Wen 3600w and the identical Champion 4000w. The features of this Wen, with the digital data center for fuel gage, load, voltage, and run time pushed me towards this over the Champion. The Champion has none of that. This model, being identical to the Champion is rated a 100w less running watts at 2900w vs 3000w. That 100w just doesn't make the difference for me. The price difference is also significant, with the Wen being around $150 cheaper between the Dual Fuel models.
I have switch to this Wen 3600w for my camp trailer from the much larger Champion 4500w Dual Fuel, simply due to size and weight. The Champion 4500 Dual Fuel is 100+lbs and an absolute pain to load and haul around, and is way more wattage than I could ever need in my small Jayco 184BH. Still planning to keep the Champion 4500 as home power backup though. This Wen comes in at 49lbs with oil added, and much easier to handle loading in and out of my truck. The noise level on this Wen is noticeably louder on eco mod and especially when running with higher loads. But that's the trade off. And it makes sense. The Champion 4500 has a larger 212cc engine that rarely needs to idle up to produce the power I need and they're just quietter to begin with, where this Wen has a 149cc engine that needs to rev up to hit the same output. At idle, the noise is very tolerable. There are many videos on YouTube for this model I suggest watching, showing decibel readings and comparing to other generators in the class, as well as a shootout between the Wen 3600w and matching Champion 4000w
I have modified the included propane attachment with quick connect fittings, to utilize the output on my trailer. Very easy modification. The fittings can be purchased here on Amazon for around $15. I have also purchased a couple 12ft quick connect propane hoses so I can run the generator out and away from my trailer a bit to cut down on noise.
I'm still in the break-in process, and plan on changing the oil every hour for the first 6hrs to keep flushing out dirty oil. And cycling the load between 0-50%. Once this is done I will put this thing into regular service and plan to change the oil every 25hrs or so with full synthetic. This is oil change interval is overkill, but clean oil is cheap insurance, and hopefully keeps this thing up and running for thousands of hours to come. One thing I have noticed is it seemed to run a bit rough after initial start up, but after 1.5hrs of running it has really smoothed out.
Overall I am very pleased with this unit. The size, weight, and power output is great!
I will update my review in the future if this falls short of my expectations.
UPDATE... After 56.6 hrs of use, this thing has been amazing! Seems to have really smoothed out and even gotten a bit quieter with some use. It's handled every load I've put it through with my trailer. A/C usage, air fryer, microwave, fridge and hot water heater.... its ran everything I've needed without needing to be conscious of shutting one thing down to power the other. I ran this thing 40+hrs over a 6 day 4th of July camping trip and it did not disappoint. Added a magnetic oil dip sticks, and after a 30hr oil change interval there was only a small bit of pasty residue on the magnet. Zero larger shavings. Still very happy with that purchase.

Added a magnetic oil dip sticks, and after a 30hr oil change interval there was only a small bit of pasty residue on the magnet. Zero larger shavings. Still very happy with that purchase.

3600-Watt Dual Fuel Inverter Generator
Reviewed in the United States on September 14, 2024Last night around 6:30 the power went out as hurricane Francine was approaching us. Waited half an hour and it looked like it wasnt coming back on so I went outside and got out my brand new Wen 3600 Watt generator that I bought in June. Still had to put the oil in it it was so new. So I put oil in it, gassed it up and fired it up. Second pull it started and smoked its tail off. And then it died and wouldnt restart. Tried the fuel cap and it had a suction sound to it so figured that was it, cap wasnt venting. Restarted it and it still smoked and ran rough. Died a few times and couldnt get it to run long enough to hook up any load to it. By this time I am in a T shirt, joggers with flip flops and soaked to the bone. Its getting dark and weather is getting worse so figured I would look at it in the morning after the storm and went in and dried off.
Had some battery camping lights and a radio so I was set for the night and it was cool. Low 70's so me and Jasper my cat chilled while listening to the storm pass us on by. The eye of the storm went right over my house.
This morning went out and started the generator up again. It cranked right up and still smoking its tail off. Plugged up the load from my solar system with the chest freezer, fridge and the gen idled way up and took the load. Almost died a couple times but it kept running while still smoking its tail off. Figured ok, lets see what else this smoking pig will take and plugged up the line that had the lights, computer, all the kitchen and living room appliances and it took that load fine. Still smoking but not nearly as bad as it was. So i plugged up a 5000 btu window AC and turned that on high. Damn lil generator took the load just fine. I estimated 2000 watt load on it now. Ok, time to get greedy and got out the coffee maker. That takes about 1000 watts and is a big load on top of everything else but I wanted to see how strong this generator really is. Not even a hick up. Damn thing took the load fine and I opened the door and the smoking stopped. It was sitting there running nice and quietly.
At first I thought the generator was going to be pure junk that is way past its return date but I lucked out and its a keeper. It ran for about 4 hours before the power came back on and burned maybe half a gallon of gas. Not bad. Then my girlfriend came and grabbed the little generator to take to a friend that lived next door to her. She had a freezer full of food she didnt want to lose and I had power restored so sure. Girlfriend told me last night she watched her go out around 7 am and gas up my generator, cranked it up and went to work. Around 5 yesterday afternoon the wife said she heard it die so she went over, filled the gas up and cranked it up again. Thing ran 10 hours keeping a freezer and fridge running. Not bad at all on a gallon and a half of gas. At the time of writing this review the generator has around 50 hours run time and runs perfectly. No smoking at all and provides plenty of power.
I was able to run a fridge and freezer (500 watts combined) desktop computer and monitor (300 watts) lights and small appliances like router and modems (200 watts) and a 5K btu window air conditioner ( 600 watts) for around 1600 watts combined and then use a coffee maker for another 1K watts which is about 2600 watts total and the generator took the load with no complaints Ran great. Highly recommend!!!

Great little generator
Reviewed in the United States on May 1, 2026This is a great generator to have in the garage for the catastrophic storm and power failure that never happened. It's small enough that you can put it on a shelf and stack things around it and probably forget that you even have it. In preparation for the non-event I did put gas and oil in it to test it out. It started right up and was surprisingly quiet. It powered the 300 watt halogen work light I plugged into it with no issues, so I'm sure it would be suitable for powering the TV and charging phones, which was its intended use during the non-event. Although I don't plan to ever run it in an area that carbon monoxide could accumulate, I got the model with the CO monitor just in case. I also picked the dual fuel model so that if there were no gasoline available in the local area during the non-event I could swipe the propane tank from the neighbor's grill.
