Camp chair comparison!
5 out of 5 stars
Camp chair comparison!
When searching for a quality camp chair, I kept going back and forth between these two. First, I ordered the chair on the left by EA "Ever Advanced". I'm 5'1" and 165 lbs. and wanted a sturdy but easy to carry camp chair. The EA chair has a higher back and since I'm short, it definitely supported my head with room to spare when I leaned back. This chair advertises "lumbar support" and it's well made with a padded back and seat, but the reason why it gives you lumbar support is because it's a sling chair...your own weight molds the seating to your back. It has one cup holder, soda can sized, that is thickly insulated and one large open pocket on the right side for your phone and keys; no zipper closure. The pocket is sewn of both fabric and mesh. The armrests are padded and comfortable and they are height-adjustable. The chair doesn't have an attached strap but there is one on the carry bag. The chair weighs 8.5 lbs and supports up to 300 lbs. I was a bit unhappy that the sling-style EA chair was a little difficult to get out of. My older knees sometimes need a firmer seat to help with standing. So, I ordered the "Dual Lock" camp chair on the right by Kijaro. This chair locks open and the seat is very firm. Easy to rise out of. Again, my short height enabled my head to be supported when I leaned back. Taller folks won't have a head rest. The chair also locks when closed. Not tightly closed, but enough so that when I threw the chair's built-in strap over my shoulder in order to carry it without putting it back into its bag, the chair didn't fully open. This chair weighs 1 lb. heavier than the EA chair but honestly, I didn't notice the difference between the two when I had them over my shoulder. The Kijaro chair also supports up to 300 lbs. The Kijaro chair's back has a slight lean-back angle to it; it's not a straight-backed chair. I might tuck a rolled hand towel behind my back if I feel the need for lumbar support. The Kijaro chair has two cup holders made of plastic mesh. Not sure how sturdy they will prove to be. One is soda can-sized and the other one is slightly larger and would hold a no-handle-style, cylindrical travel coffee mug or a Starbucks frap drink cup. There is a very nice pocket to hold your gear on the right side of the chair; it's a little hard to see in the pic. It's sewn of fabric and mesh, and has a zippered main compartment as well as two open pockets on the outer face that are cell phone-sized. I really like the zippered pocket; a great idea for keys and other small items that you dare not lose. I also like the thick, reinforced binding along the edges of this chair and the pocket. Decorative as well as durable. Love the turquoise color! Both camp chairs are well made. The EA chair has more padding; the Kijaro chair is a firmer sit. Both chairs were comfortable on the back of the thighs; no pinching. They both have comfy, padded arm supports and the seats were both wide enough that I had room to spare. The EA chair has a carry bag made of softer nylon material and the end where the feet go is padded. The Kijaro chair's carry bag is made of a stiffer nylon material with no padding at the feet end of the bag. They close with locking drawstrings. Both carry bags have shoulder straps. Because of all of the nice padding, the EA chair is more difficult to put into its bag. The Kijaro chair has less padding to fold up and also has that lock-closed feature which helps when putting it back into the carry bag. Both chairs have non-breathable seating surfaces but the Kijaro chair has a mesh back for air circulation while the EA chair does not. Bring a terry towel to sit on to keep your fanny dry! I hope that this comparison is helpful as you search for the perfect camp chair. Personally, the Kijaro chair wins over the EA chair.

"This Thing Is MASSIVE — And That's Exactly Why I Love It"

Okay, I have to be upfront about something right away: when they say "oversized," they are not playing around.

I've bought "oversized" chairs before that turned out to be just… normal sized. This is not that. When I unboxed the EVER ADVANCED, I literally laughed out loud at how big this thing is. It's 24 inches wide, 40 inches tall, and the second I sat down, I understood why people in the reviews kept saying "it's like a throne." Because it genuinely is.

Build quality? Exceptional. The steel frame feels legitimately solid — not that hollow, bendy kind you get with cheap outdoor chairs. It locks into place with a satisfying click, and with a 500 lb weight capacity, you're not going to worry about this thing ever giving out on you. I've had it out at three camping trips and a tailgate, and there's not a creak or wobble to be found.

The padding is a game changer. Most camping chairs are fine for an hour, then you start shifting around because the seat is digging into you. The thick padded backrest and seat on this one? I've sat in it for four hours straight without getting uncomfortable. The high back also means your whole back gets support, not just your lower half — massive deal if you have any kind of back issues.

    Convenience touches that actually matter:

The cup holder is sturdy and holds a full-size water bottle with no tipping risk

The side pocket is deep enough to hold your phone, sunscreen, and snacks

No assembly required — just unfold and it's ready in seconds

One thing to know going in: This chair weighs about 16 lbs. That's heavier than your typical ultralight camp chair, so if you're backpacking miles into the wilderness, this probably isn't your pick. But for car camping, your backyard, concerts, sports games, or tailgating? The included carry bag makes it completely manageable, and trust me, the comfort trade-off is worth it.

Bottom line: I paid $99.99 for this chair and I genuinely feel like I got more than my money's worth. If you're someone who's tired of chairs that feel like they might fold under you, have a narrow seat, or leave your back aching — just get this one. You'll wonder why you waited so long.

10/10, already told three people to buy it.

This outdoor chair is outstanding quality! I purchased this chair in black, July 2020. I use it 365 days a year on my patio. I live in NYC, even when it's cold outside I'm out there drinking my coffee every morning. This chair is still in perfect condition after 4 years. (I store the chair indoors) Folds easily, light weight, excellent support, very comfortable & easy to get in & out of the bag. I have had to tighten a few screws here & there, but otherwise, no issues, best investment I've made in outdoor furniture. If you're looking for a comfortable outdoor chair, this is the one to buy! If it ever wears out, I will purchase another from this company.

The chairs are great! They give good back support and are comfortable. The only problem was that our bags are ripping at the seams. We are disappointed with that. We used the chairs about four times.

These chairs are so comfy, sturdy (I'm 217 lbs and my partner is also). You can put these in your trunk and be ready. You can rest your head and fall a sleep if you wanted. They have a cup holder. They have a slide pocket where you can put whatever you want, I put it's own bag in there. Easy to sit and stand from them. Not flimsy at all. Strong. Fold to use easily and fold to put away. They are on the big side, but si are we LOL. Get these you need them!

able to lean my head back in the desert with support, pocket for drink and book...can't say enough about the comfort. I'm short legged and my feet touch the ground too!
