The best decision for me on a new 5th wheel hitch
Top reviews from the United States

Great hitch for this new 5’er couple
Reviewed in the United States on September 16, 2024Me and my wife recently purchased a brand new venture sporttrek 5th wheel that’s around 12k dry and has a pin weight of around 2.1k. I got a 2021 Silverado 2500LT duramax and we were cutting it close with payload… having never owned/driven either, we did a ton of homework and this hitch was the first one that really caught my eye. We considered going gen-Y but it’s incredibly steep. I opted to get a single point turnover ball and safety chain u bolt setup in my 6.9ft truck bed. After seeing that the crosswing gives you about 7-8 more inches with the offset, it just seemed to make sense. The price was great too… me and my wife put this together out of the box and it did take us a minute to follow what it was asking, but we got it worked out. I had to buy the 30mm deep socket but rented the 3/4 inch torque wrench from autozone… you need one that can get from 50-300ft.lbs and it will cover everything. You’ll need a few other deep sockets too, but once I got all the right tools, install wasn’t too bad. The one thing I will say is that we absolutely had no chance of using the lowest setting, but we tried the middle and the clearance seemed ok for the most part but when we test drove in my neighborhood , the pin box rubbed into the plastic cover on my tailgate and chewed it up a little bit. Thankfully nothing deeper than the plastic, so I didn’t really care too much. We reset the whole thing just to move the height up to the highest notch and then we got a solid 5-6” clearance. I wish I could get about 2 more inches just to be safe, but we have taken it out several times now and had no more issues. I’m going to add the ARS suspension leaf support spring, so I think that’ll help give it the last bit I’m looking for. As far as operation, this thing is a breeze to use. Its self explanatory once everything is set up properly. As I mentioned, I’ve never used any other type of hitch, but I can’t imagine anything being much easier than this. It is very obvious when you lock that you’re good… I still do a tug test, but I had zero concerns that it wasn’t locked. It slides in super easy and I’ve had to hook up at kind of a weird angle and on a slight decline on one corner of my truck and this just set down right in the receiver with no issues at all. It’s a pain to take the whole hitch out just because you have to own a 50-300ft lb torque wrench for one, but you have to take out multiple bolts in order to remove it from the turnover ball. It is light and me and my wife can both move it by ourselves, but with 2 people it’s super easy. Once it’s out I can flip my turnover ball upside down and then my bed is 100% accessible in a matter of about 10 minutes. It’s not a huge hitch which is nice too. I feel very comfortable driving this and I’ve had no concerns with cab contact whatsoever and I’ve taken some very tight turns and I can’t say I have gotten closer than 8” from my cab, if not more. That offset is great and alleviates almost all of my concern with that. The whole hitch seems really solid, although it blows my mind that it is the only thing holding a 13-14k beast behind me! It’s nuts to think that the single locking bolt is all that holds all of that weight in place… but still, it’s driven great. Once I upgrade my suspension a little bit, I imagine my ride will be pretty smooth! My truck is great pulling it, but it gets a little hairy when I run into some terrible roads. Overall, I’ve been very pleased with this hitch. It’s easy to use, install, remove, and hook up. It does the job and does it well. Can’t say I will ever be interested in anything else! It’s worked well so far and I hope to get many years out of it!

The best decision for me on a new 5th wheel hitch
Reviewed in the United States on April 4, 2023I had a Curt Q24 for almost 3 years now. I was happy with how solid and dependable the Q24 is. It is rated at 24,000 lbs so I always feel confident about pulling my 13,000 lbs. 5th wheel with the Q24. It is a very reliable 5th wheel hitch.
The problem with the Q24 is that it super heavy (almost 200 lbs.), sometimes hard to couple/de-couple on inclined sites, and takes a lot of space on the truck bed. Also, when pulling the trailer, I experienced a lot of uncomfortable “chucking” motion. Someone then told me about the Andersen gooseneck conversion and I was about ready to purchase it when I saw the ad about the Curt Crosswing and I was intrigued. I have never seen such a simple but rigid design.
Since I already have the rails for the Curt Q24, I decided to go with the Curt Crosswing because I don’t want to gamble on Andersen and Curt rail potential mismatch.
The Curt Crosswing was the right decision I made instead of going to Andersen. The Crosswing looks nice and mean and rigid. Also, compared to the Curt Q24, there are several advantages:
1. Price is lower than the Q24 hitch or the Andersen gooseneck.
2. More than 50% lighter than the Q24. I can’t carry the Q24 by myself so I would need at least 2 more muscular persons to help me. With the Crosswing, I can install/remove very easily. This allows me to keep the entire bed space open and free when I am not towing.
3. The “chucking” motion almost disappeared.
4. Coupling/uncoupling even on inclined surface is easier as compared to the Q24.
5. Assembling the Crosswing main parts on either the trailer’s kingpin or on the bed of the truck is simple and easy. There are minimum number of parts to worry about.
6. The Crosswing is still rated at 20,000 lbs and height-adjustable.
7. It is easy to see whether the Crosswing is fully hooked to the trailer or not by means of the hitch handle.
To avoid theft, I just looped chain/padlocks on the Crosswing at both the kingpin portion and the truck bed portion of the hitch.

Very jerky
Reviewed in the United States on October 8, 2024Bought this due to the new design and light weight as I currently have a Curt slider 5th wheel hitch. I have used it twice and both times it jerked so bad that it made the trip very unpleasant. Also once parked and during the unhitching process it doesn’t separate very smoothly. I would not recommend this style at all. I contacted Curt to see about an exchange and because I bought it through Amazon they won’t do anything. I bought it during July Prime Days and due to my first use was after 30 days Amazon won’t take it back. Very disappointing……(

Pretty much as advertised.
Reviewed in the United States on June 28, 2024I purchased the version that attaches via the gooseneck ball.
I have a 2018 Ram 2500 6.4ft bed with the factory Ram puck system. I had a Reese slider and r16 normal 5th wheel hitch. I never towed with it. By the time I purchased a 5th wheel rv I had added a 5th wheel tool box. This covered a portion of my front ram pucks, so I either had to remove my tool box or find a different hitch. This is where the Curt Crosswing comes in. It connects via the gooseneck ball and the foot print is small enough that it doea not interfer with my tool box. It also allows me to full jack my 2019 knife my Cougar 5th wheel rv on relatively flat ground.
Hitching is far easier than a normal 5rh wheel. It actually hitches more like a normal bumper pull. Back up and get the hitch adapter pretty much on too of the hitch....and lower it into place. Slide the hitch pin in place. Done. No tug test required. It can only hitch one way. It is 1/3 the weight of my old slider hitch. My 14 yr old boy has pulled it out of the truck for me. This hitch saves you about 150# of cargo weight in your truck if you are pushing the limits. Another pro....no slider, so you can still put a cooler or fire wood in the bed of your truck and not worry about it interfering with the hitch.
Next....chucking. I drive a lot of Colorado roads....and they are all horrible and rough. I get a good bit of chucking. This is my 1st 5th wheel...so I will say as a first timer....it is more than I like.
Now once I get to Kansas and Nebraska on roads that just seem to be smoother....this pulls like a dream. No chucking at all. Very smooth pull. My rv also has the Rotoflex hitch on it...that I have installed a lockout system on. Curt says it is rated to use the rotoflex...but I found reviews of others saying it tore up the rotoflex....and recommended a lockout.....so I just started with a lock out installed at the beginning.
I have about 1500 miles over 4-5 trips on this hitch in 4 months. My rig has about a 2200# pin weight. Hitch is set as low as it will go. Sits my truck down about 2 inches to make my truck level.
My only concern is the chucking. As a first timer with nothing to compare it too, I am not sure how much is normal. I know some of the Colorado 2 lane highways will flat wear you out and have you hand ready on the trailer break controller to pull the chuck out of the trailer on rough bridge approaches.

Best hitch I've ever owned
Reviewed in the United States on August 27, 2024I now have 34K miles on this hitch and I love it!
I love how incredibly easy it is to re-connect.
I love how lightweight it is to pull out of the bed of my truck.
I love how well it handles our 42' Montana and how rock-solid it is.
We have a 2019 F-350 SuperDuty with a 6'8" bed. I was concerned that we were going to need to use a slide hitch. It turns out that the Curt gives us just a few more inches of rear displacement which means that even in a hard turn we come nowhere close to hitting the cab. Huge bonus!
Our 2019 F350 pull a 42' Montana with a GVW over 16K lbs. The ride with this hitch is vastly superior to the 20K Reese I replaced.

Reviewed in the United States on February 2, 2024good product light enough to put in truck bed and remove by myself , about 1/2 the weight of the old 16k fifth wheel hitch . im towing 36 foot fifth wheel with my f250 pin weight is around 2600 lbs so every pound counts with payload of 2900 lbs , 20k tow rating good also new trailer has gvwr of 16900 so the 20k works well only issue is the 300lbs torque of the center bolt , had to buy a 3/4 inch torque but i needed one

At least its lightweight
Reviewed in the United States on June 23, 2025The hitch is light weight and sturdy as advertised, however I recently ran into a problem when the ground wasn’t perfectly level with re-hitching the fifth wheel to the truck. It would not slide down into the groove and took quite a bit of readjusting the truck to get the hitch to set. When I called Curt customer service the representative told me the hitch is made for usage on flat ground mainly for those who only stay in RV parks with level ground. I now wish I had purchased the Anderson hitch.
