I stressed over selecting a camp chair and spent a long time making my decision. Here were the criteria I judged them by - 1. I wanted a comfortable chair that I could nap in (or at least get a good rest in). Reason: My son and I are going to crew an ultramarathon runner so we will have a lot of time to wait. Since I will be driving up and down and all over a mountain to meet her along the way, I need to rest so I can drive safely. 2. Must be lightweight and fold up so I can get it in a suitcase. Reason: we are flying in to the race and renting a car. 3. Must be able to not sink into the ground. Reason: I have no idea how soft the ground will be so I wanted a sturdy base in soft soil so I don’t fall over. Plus, I’d like to use it going to the beach when I visit my brother in Florida. At first, my research led me to the Helinox Savanna chair. However, the cost was just too much (almost 5x this one). Plus, I don’t want to worry about someone “borrowing” it - at that cost, it would stress me out looking after it. I would be sad if I lost this one but it wouldnt be as much of a disaster. This chair seems like someone was also familiar with that chair but made it in a version so people like me could afford it -and added a few things I view as improvements. Here’s how this Wildhiker highback HuggleMode chair stacked up. 1. Very comfortable! It has armrests, enough fabric to sling your body, and a pillow you can adjust to your preferred position. I was surprised that my preferred pillow position was a lot lower than typical placements on these chairs. The pillow is also padded - you don’t have to stuff it yourself. The reason I got this over the other Wildhiker high back chair is that you fold the bottom legs back so it sits lower but in a sturdy base. It’s less likely to sink into soft dirt and sand. Plus, this position was definitely “nap-able!” My legs were in a great stretched out position. Way better than I expected! As a side sleeper, I could even turn slightly in it. With the pillow below my chin, I could rest my head in as close to my normal sleeping position as I am likely to find in a camp chair. 2. It weighs only a couple ounces more than the Helinox. It’s not a chair I would take on a long backpacking trip but for short journeys or putting in a suitcase, it’s only 4.4 lb and folds easily into a bag that I can fit in a carry-on. It has a loop on each side of the bag to attach to a pack and it has a shoulder strap - so it’ll be easy for me to carry once we get to the race too, which is great since I’ll be toting a bunch of stuff. 3. Being able to put it up in the lower position makes it more stable (and even more comfortable). It is harder for me (at age 67) to get out in this position but I found a way and it’s worth it. I didn’t have any trouble getting out of the higher position but I did reposition myself in the chair to make it easier before attempting to stand. The Savanna chair did not have this position option so you might have to buy accessories with it to help with this and limit blowing over. Assembly: I’d watched so many videos about these chairs that it was super easy to do. I like that there is a Velcro strap at both sides to hold the poles and they aren’t swinging around during assembly like other chairs. I found it easy to get the chair seat on the frame- I didn’t fully click the middle in until after the fabric seat was on so it was super easy. Other things I liked: some mesh for air flow; a real pillow that you can adjust to different positions; arm rests (maybe even more important than I thought they would be - really add to comfort level), a deep mesh pocket on one side (fits a standard water bottle or carafe but not the super sized ones - still you are not far off the ground so you could reach them there), a small pocket for phone etc, enough fabric to make a true seat, comfortable lounging position but I can also sit up in it, higher seat for reaching a camp table, and lower seat for rest and as needed for some venues. At about $48, I think it is a good value. I just got it so I can’t tell about durability but I plan to take good care of it.

I travel a lot to Florida and wanted something that I could take to the beach and would pack in a suitcase. I first purchased another brand (H....) which is very nice but WAY expensive. My wife and daughter decided to come with me on my next trip so I wanted to get them chairs as well without breaking the bank. So I found these by Wildhiker. I was skeptical as they were 1/4th the price of the other brand so I purchased them to try. Wow, glad I did. These chairs are very nice. Easily packs in the supplied case and in my suitcase for travel. The height is good when using the legs but this chair also allows you to remove the legs and sit on the frame when in the sand. It provides a more stable footing when in the sand. Nicely engineered. The aluminum construction is great, supports my weight (260) which is good even though my wife and daughter are a fraction of that, they both said it is very comfortable.

My biggest need was that it would support me, fit into a suitcase and comfortable enough to sit in for periods of time. This checks all of the boxes and I got two for half the price of my other one. Now just need small tables and a few other things that also fit in the suitcase. Would definitely buy again.

This chair is the GOAT for cheer competitions. It’s especially great for the ones where they restrict outside chairs because it packs up so small. They’re super comfortable, sturdy and stable, easy to assemble and disassemble (under 2 minutes for both), and super lightweight. Best cheer investment yet. We get asked about them often.

I don’t know about you, but from the pictures and even the video it seemed like it might be a bit much to deal with. It is an absolute snap to put together. It comes with instructions, they are not necessary in my opinion. It was that easy. The bag/case has a strap to throw over your shoulder as well. Super comfy to sit in. Disassembly and repacking while not as rapid as deployment, is pretty quick. I recommend taking a knee, if there’s nowhere to sit, to fold up and pack it up rather than trying to do it while standing and holding onto it. Weight wise, it’s very light. Easy to pack around. Awesome chair.

This chair is pretty good. It’s comfortable and easy to set up. It’s a little bulky and heavier than expected. It’s more like low quality metal, not aluminum. For a minimal chair, it’s fine. It’s not a high quality, nor high value product.

I didn't have high expectations for this little chair. I was so wrong. It is quick and easy to set up. It's perfectly comfortable. Way better than those cheap dollar store folding chairs. It folds up small and compact and stores easily.
