I like to go offroading which means I air down my tires and need to air them back up. Before buying this compressor I have owned a Harbor Freight branded one, and some generic no name unit, both of which failed within the first 3 trips. I am not a super serious offroader. I go on a trip about once a month. So far this has been the best 12v compressor I have ever owned. I used it 3 times at home before taking it on an offroading trip in Moab, UT with 3 of my buddies. We aired up and down twice and the All Top handled it like a champ. It did get warm around the compressor output, but that's just physics, and it never skipped a beat.

The compressor seems to be fairly well built. It is definitely heavier than its competition, but I don't think it is quite the quality of something from ARB, but I have never owned one.

The power lead on the compressor is a good length for my use case, which is a slightly lifted midsize SUV. I usually put the compressor on the ground, run the power cable up to my battery, and reach all the tires with the hose. If you had a monster truck I think you would need to leave the compressor in the engine bay or get something to put the compressor on to raise it up. The hose is a good length but the gauge on it is basically useless. Id rather it just have nothing to be honest.

The accessory bag includes a few useful goodies. It has a quick disconnect for air up tires, a few nozzles for blowing up balls or inflatable pools, and an adapter that will allow you to hook standard air tools to the non standard quick connect this compressor uses.

Generally when I fill up my tires I use the gauge on the hose to guesstimate what pressure the tire is actually at, disconnect the hose, and check it with a second gauge. I guess you could attach one of those tire inflators with the air tool adapter but this method works fine for me.

The following is based on 265/75 R16 BF Goodrich KO2 tires 10 ply rated.

I could deflate one tire from 40 psi to 20 psi in 28 seconds with my ARB valve core removing deflation tool. Then, I could reinflate the tire from 20 psi to 40 psi in 1 minute and 36 seconds with this All Top compressor. I see no need for two or four tire inflation systems at this rate and simplicity. I simply do not 4wheel enough to carry that extra bulk. The analog gauge on the All Top matched the analog gauge on the ARB deflator. I also used a traditional tire gauge and it also matched the other two so accuracy seems reliable.

The build quality of this pump is high. The heavy duty rubber pressure hose has a high quality feel and is more than enough to reach the most distant tire on my Toyota Tacoma Double Cab Short Bed pickup. The power switch has a built in dust cover. The pump fills the tires so fast, worrying about overheating etc. is unnecessary. Ambient temp was 95 F when filled 2 tires for my test and the pump was warm (this is the normal operation condition) but far from hot. All supplied items in the zippered case weigh 19.4 pounds. It is not light, odd that this is part of the star rating, to me it indicates a robust build and I did not lower its rating for this. This is not a light duty compressor for a commuter car. It would work but would be overkill! The kit came with an adapter to downsize the output connector to a 1/4 inch connector (common for other air tools and hoses) so versatility is included. Also, the end of the pressure hose is a twist on connector for the tire valve but there is another adapter that fits on this and makes it a quick connect/release to the valve stem. The quick release adapter stayed in place without fail and sealed appropriately. The battery terminal clamps are robust and feel like they would last forever. This is my first high quality air compressor and it has impressed me with its quality and speed. I would highly recommend this as it seems like a sweet spot for quality VS price. This is in reference to the pump with the guage on the line. The pump works well. The electric cables and connectors are min. The problem is the absurd air line and fittings. I guess these fittings are just from another country but they are also backwards, male vs female positions, from normal air hose configuration in the US. I don't know if the person who designed the air line with gauges ever attempted to use this configuration but the guage is at the tire, the on/off switch is at the pump, and you can't take a reading while pumping so you will be running back and fourth alot. Basically the Guage on the line is useless. You can use the air line as they are but just go ahead and get seperate air pressure gauge. Other than the male adapter (should have been female) the quick release fittings are not compatible with our normal hardware store air fittings.

You can see from the picture that I modified this with a special fitting to standard fittings you can find in any hardware store. The adaptor was approx $20. This did come with an adapter but yet again it was male and typical air lines are female from the source so you would behave to use a special line or make another adapter. One reason I much preferred this configuration is that if I destroyed the air line I can pick a new one up almost anywhere. I don't know of anywhere you will find a replacement line for the original and nothing near me fits it. One diff for my mod is the female connection holds pressure.

When running there is no pressure sensing swtich that turns off the pump so it runs constantly when on and you hear the release valve blow. Not a big deal but much more expensive competition is nicer to use for this reason alone.

I've been buying All-Top gear since they came into the market, so when they released an air compressor, I was in! Side note: I own their straps + traction boards.

I'm always on the hunt for bolstering my solo recovery setup, which I always keep in my truck.

This one exceeds all my expectations. Very well built (HEAVY), high quality materials and does the job when I tested out the unit.

Got this during Prime day so I got a killer deal on it. So far I've used it twice now without issue. It's quick. It brought my 265/70R16's from 20 to 35 lbs in about 50 seconds (well...I counted to 50).

In case you missed it. This thing has a non-standard quick connect fitting on the handle. That fitting matches the long hose that's provided. But, what's really nice is that they provide a small bit of hose that converts it from their non-standard fitting (European fitting?) to the 'Industrial D' style fitting that's so popular hear in the USA. There's also a couple other fittings and converters.

couple notes. It's not small. This is larger than your average car tire compressor. That's why it's fast. It's also not that light. But again, do you want to blow up balloons or your tire?

This thing does get hot. The compressor piston area was hot to the touch as was the output. There's warnings about it and they don't lie.

Now, a couple niggles

- The gauge is at the end where you fill the tire, but the ON/OFF switch is back at the pump. So you can't easily check the pressure while filling it. You have to fill it for a while, turn it off, walk over to the gauge, then turn it back on, and repeat until done. If the designers were thinking, they would have put the gauge on the device or near the end that connects to the device.

- The gauge seems to be a bit inaccurate when comparing to the tire pressure sensors. I filled all tires to the gauge said it was 35psi. The TPMS for each tire reports 33-34psi.

- There's no auto shutoff switch.

- The alligator clips are kind of small and the cable gets warm.

The future:

- I'll probably build up a 4-tire inflation/deflation kit and include a more accurate gauge as well as a ball valve so I can stop the flow and check the pressure. But to do that, you need a pressure switch so you don't damage the compressor. Therefore...

- I'll probably hard wire in a pressure switch to automatically turn off the unit when the pressure gets high.

- I might rewire the power cables. The ones provided seem to get warm and the alligator clamps are kind of small and barely get around my battery posts.

- I might remove that non-standard fitting, retap the hole to 1/4 NPT and install a Industrial D fitting on the unit (but that's only if I do the first item above).

- For all the above, the 'U-toob' has several folks that have done those modifications to increase the capability of these compressors. There are several with different branding that are just like this unit.

I must say, it's an excellent compressor upon initial testing. I baselined using my trusty Viair88P, InDeflate dual tire deflater/inflater, 2 digital pressure gauges and a laser temp reader. Tires tested on were my 275/70/18 KO2 (33") and the tests were run from 16psi - 40psi in 72 degree ambient temp ad 47% humidity and the 2 tires were inflated simultaneously (so divide my time to 40psi in half if you want to figure out the per tire time LOL). I alternated which compressor I used so as not to overtax either. 6 total tests were run. So, here are the results:

Viair 88P - Test 1 = 8m12s, Test 2 = 8m15s, Test 3 = 8m8s

AllTop - Test 1 = 4m, Test 2 = 4m2s, Test 3 = 3m59s

If you take those numbers and look at 4 tire inflation cycles, you're talking a time savings of 8+ minutes. That's not insubstantial. I tow an offroad trailer with the same tires as my rig, so I'm inflating 6 tires at a time. So the 12 minutes savings per cycle is a HUGE win for me. Multiply that out over the number of times I need to reinflate my tires and the time savings becomes absolutely massive per year.

Additionally, the AllTop ran 45 degrees cooler (measured at the compressor body) than the 88P. I could easily touch the compressor body on the AllTop without any discomfort even after each cycle. The 88P was hot enough to potentially instantly cause blisters and melt plastic.

So, all in all, VERY positive for the All Top. Construction seems solid, seems to push the 180L/minute air volume as claimed and stays suprisingly cool during it's cycles.

Here are the only 2 negatives I can think of:

1: Alligator clips are trash (they could easily be better quality for no appreciable increase in price). Would love to see something more like what NOCO provides with their Genius Chargers and Battery Jumpers.

2: The power cables are woefully short. My battery is located in front driver side of the engine bay. My LandCruiser is lifted slightly, but no obnoxiously by any standard. The compressor place on the ground under the bumper had the power cables nearly stretched to their max. There was a little slack, but not as much as I think would be ideal.

If the power cables were 18" longer and the alligator clips slightly better quality, I'd say this thing is a MUST own compressor for people who routinely deflate/reinflate like I do (20000 miles of off roading annually). It's a fraction of the offerings from ARB and seems to perform nearly equal. Sure, the ARB dual compressor can beat this one by 10-20 seconds on the test I performed, but you pay 3-4X the cost of this AllTop.

Hopefully this compressor will last. My 88p has survived 3 hard years of consistent use without a hiccup. If the AllTop can match that, then this thing is an absolute clear winner IMO.

I finally got to try this after months of looking at it in the back of the Jeep. A friend had a pickup truck with 245/75r15 tires three were down one with 20 #

I left the first one on too long, it was 50 # when I moved it to the next tire!

Only a few minutes had them at 35 psi. The overheat switch never did anything.

The clip on the valve stem worked very well, the pressure gage was the only thing, it was I think showing the pressure of the hose not the tire (50#).

A simple pressure gage told me what it was, maybe shutting off the compressor, too far away, would have accurately told the tire pressure. (After use, the gage on the hose WAS the or assure in the tire)

After I shut it off the hose at the pump was hot not terrible, as I had gloves on, and the handle never gave a clue, I still waited some time before placing it back in the bag..

I bought this compressor on a prime day deal, and I'm very happy with it so far.

The construction of the unit feels very solid. The battery clips are a bit on the cheap side, but I haven't had any issues as of yet. The hose seems to be well constructed, and I've found the guage to be quite accurate when the unit is powered down. The included carrying case gives you plenty of room for all of the components, and seems durable.

I have a stock '20 Toyota Tacoma TRD Off-Road, and the cord + hose lengths are more than enough to air up with minimal hassle. I ran a long trail over the weekend, and aired down to 18 psi for the duration. When I was done, I timed the re-inflation, and each P265/70R16 tire clocked in at 50 seconds from 18 to 30 PSI. The unit was still cool enough to touch without issue after use. My only real complaint is with not being able to get an accurate pressure rating while inflating. The compressor needs to be switched off, which can only be done on the side of the unit itself, otherwise the guage shows somewhere around 15 PSI over the actual pressure of the tire.

Pros:

FAST to inflate: P265/70R16 from 18 to 30 psi in 50 seconds.

Solid construction.

Outstanding value.

Plenty of hose to use on all tires.

Guage is very accurate when unit is turned off - can also be used as a air down tool.

The included case is handy and rugged.

Cons:

Battery clips seem a bit cheap.

Guage does not show accurate tire pressure while inflating.

Been using this one for years with fantastic results. Takes 35s from 12 to 40 PSI in minutes even in peak summer temperatures.

Some things to consider:

The metal fitting for the quick disconnect becomes HOT and the included rubber sleeve not only slides off but is generally inadequate to protect your fingers.

The storage bag is just barely big enough to fit the pump and tubing. This also presents an awkward situation when the pump is hot.

The power cables are short and are only long enough to get the pump down on the floor in front of the battery. This combined with the limitation of pressure meters being unable to read true PSI with the pump on means you will have to go back and forth to turn the pump on and off to hit the desired tire pressure.

With that said, I’ve seen many similarly sized pumps fail with similar use profile. This one is built like a tank.

Been pleasantly surprised with this pump. Very reasonable price relative to competitors with similar build and specs and it has held up well with multiple uses for air ups following off-road use. would buy again!

Slow

I purchased this back in summer of 2022 and I've used it a lot since then. This is extremely powerful and very easy to use. I have large 35" tires on 17" rims and I can pump all 4 tires up simultaneously (using a homemade air line system) from 20 PSI up to 40 PSI in only 10-11 minutes, that's less than 2.5 minutes per tire. It's saved me SO much time waiting to pressure up after offroading.

The length of the power wires are just fine. The length of the air hose is crazy long, you'd easily be able to reach all the way to the back of a truck without issue. I actually wish it came with the option to get a shorter hose because I don't need it so long. Great purchase, competes against compressors twice the price. 5 stars.
