Works Good
Reviewed in the United States on October 2, 2024I have a 2013 Keystone Cougar fifth wheel trailer. I camped in the Colorado mountains a month ago. I set the furnace on the first night and went to bed. We later woke to the Carbon Monoxide alarm and I immediately shut off the furnace and ventilated the RV. Everyone was ok including our pets. I now have two Carbon Monoxide detectors in the trailer! After returning home, I purchased and received a hand held carbon monoxide detector from Amazon. I started the old furnace at home and the air from the original furnace immediately set off the alarm on the hand held CO detector. I removed the old Suburban furnace, located the manufacturers model number and ordered the Suburban Replacement Core. The new core fit well in my 11 year old furnace enclosure. The only modification was drilling one small hole in the enclosure to match up to the hole in the rear foot of the new core. Start by turn all electrical and propane off. You will need to cut wires going to the old furnace. Mark both ends and inspect where they connected to the old furnace. The new core wiring is of course different than the old one but take your time it isn't too hard to figure out. The new one came some install instructions and thankfully, a wiring diagram. The new furnace exceeded my expectations. It pushes more air, it is about the same for noise, and it puts out hotter air than the old one.

Great Replacement Unit
Reviewed in the United States on April 5, 2026This heater worked great as a replacement. The fresh air blower wheel is plastic instead of the original metal, but it seems to be balanced well. It ate a mouse and survived, unlike the original. I put mesh over the openings so hopefully no more mice in it.

Overthinker’s thoughts
Reviewed in the United States on December 1, 2024Our SF-30 furnace stopped working (would turn on, fan would spin and would hear clicking but no heat and within like a minute it would shut off. Replace the sail switch with the best oem look alike I could buy but it was still the $8 cheap black one. Worked for a couple times then stopped working again. Figured it could be the sail switch again or motherboard ($20 part or $150+) so to skip buying something and taking it all apart and it not work and having to wait all over again and repeat the process I just bought the replacement core. My initial concern was the gas hook up but it comes with the adapter piece to make it go up and fit smoothly. Next was the wiring because I have 0 experience but I just disconnected from shore power and the battery and tripped the breakers off (over kill I know but I’m a noob lol) took a video of how it was already connected and repeated the same. Only concern I had was the two blue wires since one had a stripe and on the old unit they were solid but the one with the strip goes to the small red wire. Super easy instal, fires up everytime now. Gonna take the old one to a shop and get diagnosed for $35 and replace whatever’s wrong exactly for a reliable back up. Great product

Look for loose hardware package.
Reviewed in the United States on February 17, 2026I installed the unit with no problems. It blew the fuse. I checked wiring, all was correct. Tried again, same thing. I suspected a bad core, ordered another one. Removed first one and unpacked second one. Found a hardware package in #2 which was not seen in #1. No hardware package is mentioned in literature. Inspected #1 and found package between housing and squirrel cage fan which stopped fan and caused fuse to blow. Installed #2, works well. If they had taped the hardware package to the core this would not have happened.

Easy, cost effective solution
Reviewed in the United States on February 26, 2025The furnace was packaged well with documentation and installation instructions and operating manual and information after installation one of the first things I noticed it is very quiet, it heats very quickly, and the fan works so much better. It is an exact replacement to the original in my cabinet at hundreds less

Major Upgrade
Reviewed in the United States on April 15, 2024This heater is pretty awesome for the price. i have a 2015 cougar 5thwheel where the unit is under the fridge. color match the wires because they are the exact same. this unit pushes so much heat that the plastic vent covers we bought deformed. we use to need a little heater for the front room cause it never got hot enough or warm enough. this heater fixed that. the blower is a little louder but pushes way harder than the original unit. save the old unit box it fits right in save the money .

Ron Ryken2 out of 5 starsCheck wiring
Reviewed in Canada on June 16, 2025The product had a damaged box and cover for exhaust was bent. We installed it and it wouldn't work. Gas valve not working. No gas. It was doing the same thing as original. RV repair guy checked everything out. He had to go thinking new furnace was going to be plug and play. He phoned sunburban and they told him things to check. Which he did. Gas flow was good, battery was good. So he removed it and took it outside and hooked it up to his battery and propane tank. No go. So he started to check and found a wire in the middle of unit not connected. He connected it and all started to work. Installed all working. So when you buy a furnace from sunburban check all wiring before you install it. It was very frustrating.
