Nine years ago my wife and I graduated from tent camping to a 36' 5th wheel. After purchasing a used 3500 GMC dually, I researched 5th-wheel hitches and came across the B&W Companion. I really liked the idea that the hitch could be removed and the truck bed was free of any rails. I had the Turnoverball mounting system installed and the Companion hitch easily attached to this mounting system. We've pulled our 5th wheel with this hitch through 35+ states over the past 9 years and the hitch has performed flawlessly. Recently, we purchased a newer tow vehicle that has the Four-Puc Hitch Platform from the manufacturer. I immediately went to the B&W website to see if they had a hitch for this platform and found the Companion OEM hitch which I ordered from Amazon. The installation was a breeze and the hitch performs as well as the original Companion. I like the OEM version better since it is lighter and therefore easier to drop into place and remove. I highly recommend this hitch!

    This hitch is awesome. The quality is heavy duty and will stand up to the many miles that I will pull a trailer. The customer service was great, received the first hitch with some damage and they had replacement parts on order the same day. Installation was easy to follow and it does not rattle when pulling down the road or stop and go traffic. The appearance is nice.

    Shipping was awesome. Ordered on a Wednesday night it came in on Friday morning. Fit my 2020 GMC 2500HD with factory puck system perfectly. Came in two different boxes for easier handling, base and head. Assembly was easy. The RV company I purchased my 5th wheel from actually adjusted the height and placed head unit on base. Love the fact it can be taken in and out and being in two sections one person can remove it. This is a very well made robust hitch. Made in America. Paint finish is very good also. Assembled unit sits below bed height so my roll up bed cover can cover bed when not pulling my 5th wheel.

    Note...I followed the directions for adjusting and locking the Companion base in place, snugging the handles where pressure was needed to lock in place without beating on them however, I highly recommend double checking handle lock downs after hooking up your 5th wheel. I had a loud banging sound on stop and go after installing the hitch however after inspecting the base lock down tension after towing a short distance the handles were loose with no tension upon locking. The base was moving in the puck holes. I removed the carter pins from locking handle bolt nuts, RE tightened and no more stop and go banging. Unit is very quiet and smooth. 5th wheel weight must have created the difference in the adjustment needed. I am very happy with my purchase and look for many years of use.

    This hitch works great for towing our fifth wheel camper. It is easy to install and remove from the pickup bed. It latches every time I back under the camper and is easy to install the lock pin. Unhooking is straight forward, but sometimes have to play with the camper height when on not on flat surface. Highly recommend.
