BEST Upgrade/ This is a Must Have

BEST Upgrade/ This is a Must Have
In our Motorhome we have a Tub/shower combo. When we bought the motorhome the tub was a great idea for the kids, but the motorhome came with a 6 gallon water heater and was NEVER big enough and showers left a lot to be desired (start/stop) and recovery time was slow. I installed and set up this Ranein tankless water heater and the kids LOVE their baths, and Mommy & Daddy love the showers. No question this is the best upgrade ever!!! ** I disconnected and removed the existing water heater then installed the new Ranein tankless water heater, it fit PERFECT in the opening, I connected the propane, I added about 5" of pipe and fittings to the cold water supply and out from the supply out to the distribution manifold, I then hooked up the 12v power and routed the wire from the included Temperature controller that I installed in the bathroom, I routed the wire from the temp controller wire down to the water heater and hooked it up. I checked all my water connections and wire connections and turned the water pump on and bled all the H & C water lines THEN powered up the water heater. It was simple!!! I turned on the HOT water alone in the bathroom (this called for water through the water heater) I heard the water heater start up, I turned the temperature controller up to the MAXIMUM temperature we wanted delivered out of the faucets so NOBODY would get burnt 🔥 just by turning only hot water on in the bath, shower, kitchen sink or the outside shower 👏🏼👏🏼 . UNDERSTANDABLY the water is not hot coming from the water heater AT FIRST, until the water heater senses the call for hot water and starts heating the water and it travels through the water line to the fixture, SAME way it was with a tanked WH, except as long as you have Power to the water pump, Water and Propane you ALWAYS have hot water 😁🥰. **** I think the problem several people run into is they set the delivery temperature 🌡️ mixed with cold water so the tankless water heater starts and stops making your bath or shower very uncomfortable. Set the delivery HOT WATER temp to the MAXIMUM you want coming out THEN mix the cold water in. In the picture you can see the color of the outside door (the door comes white and I haven't had it painted to match the motorhome yet). My Girls and my wife ask "why wouldn't they have this water heater installed in the motorhome from the factory ?" We have used this water heater and have had NO problems or any problem with temperature since it was new 👍🏼

Hello. First time Rv owner going full time living for a few years. I know little about RVs and tankless h2o heaters. I did hours and hours of research and pulled the trigger on the Ranein Nova + 3rd gen. It arrived when expected, excellent packing & communication from the seller. 1996 travel supreme 5th wheel with an old suburban 6gal h20 tank heater that was leaking. I paid for the install as I was busy with other details. The old access was to large for the Ranien so a simple 2x4 frame was added in order for the new system to be mounted securely and then the old door from the last heater worked fine and mounted up to the new frame made. Very easy install for a mobile rv tech and he hollered when he turned the tap on to see how long it took to get warm, He was shocked, stunned and was thoroughly impressed. I added the Wasserman water pump with accumulator tank recommended and a nice adjustable pressure regulator for the incoming water. Got it all dialed in and took a 40 minute shower, same temp the entire time and no changes in pressure or volume. Its functioned perfectly for the past 9 days. A nice surprise was that it came with the outdoor fittings installed and the outdoor shower kit as well, which was not assured from the Amazon listing and some reviews made no mention of it at all. But mine came as pictured from Ranein. The unit is small, compact, ready with hot water immediately and will provide the same temp water for as long as you want or have water. I cant wait to put a makeshift tub outside and fill it with hot water on a cold clear night and watch the night sky. Seems as if it doesnt use much propane at all. Time will tell and the whole thing is so flawless that I havent once had to read the manual and figure out the control panel and all its functions yet. Allowing me to focus on more immediate needs. Personally, I dont believe I will ever own a hot water heater system with a tank again, home or RV. It is just endless exact hot water, no rush, no water getting cold and for just myself...it is bliss. 5 stars

My old suburban 12 gallon tank was leaking from the combustion chamber. So I researched as best I could over a week and settled on the Rainen on demand hot water heater. It’s now been installed for about two months of continuous use. It’s doing great. I spent November and December in Ohio where it got down into the teens for several nights. I do use a heated hose in those cold temps but it still had no trouble making 124 degrees. Even at near freezing with the hose heater off. It showed 35 degree inlet and 124 outlet.

I was careful to order the 18x18 door combo which saved me $79 and had to frame the opening down to fit tank itself. It very easy, I just placed a 2x4 on edge along the top and left sides. I used Kreg pocket holes to hold them in place. Installed heater, and it fits perfectly, and then installed the door kit. Made all of the connections inside and had hot water in 30 seconds. I absolutely love it but I do have a few “complaints”.

I would like a handing option on the door so that it can be made to open toward the front of the trailer.

The T&P valve leaks above 60 psi and I had read this before buying it. With a regulator inline it doesn’t leak but it also can’t make enough volume to run two devices. Without the regulator it does fine. I need to find a high volume regulator.

The ramp up for hot water is longer than a conventional tank. I knew this going in but when I dry camp it will be an issue for water loss. I think I will rectify this with a reclamation system.

So the pros far outweigh the cons and it was half the money of the suburban unit I had that only lasted 5 years.

Wow. Game changer. It was easy to install in my 2019 Jayco Eagle. I watched a YouTube video on it. I pulled the old one out. Since I had a 15x18 inch space, I grabbed a 2x4 and filled in the space. Slid the new one in. The gas was standard. I experimented with the wires. There's only two needed to connect it to the RV itself, and two for the control panel. Now we have continuous hot water. I no longer run out of water washing dishes or taking a shower. I have a combo washer dryer and my clothes come out cleaner. One of the best adds I've done to my travel trailer.

I had this unit for 1 year now. I am very pleased with the product, I highly recommend. It performs very well and it is very, very efficient on gas compared with a regular RV water heater. I had a problem in the fall and the support team was outstanding. They are responding very quickly. I would buy it again without hesitation. The only fix I have done was to glue the exhaust protector seal because I felt it had the potential of falling when opening and closing the door.

Been full time RV living for 6 years. Had a 6 gallon atwood that worked well for what it was.

Only had this tankless unit a couple weeks, but it's been great! No issues for showering. Only complaint is that you have to leave the water running for a a while to get it it fully up to temp. Not as good for hand washing because of this, as you use up more water.

I would say, if you're off grid camping and have limited water supply, this may not be a great option. But if you're hooked up to water or full time living like we are, this is a fantastic option!

Also, be aware of the dimensions. It is narrower horizontal than most 6 gallon heaters. I filled the space with some ripped down 2x4, culking and some fiberglass panel.

  • 𝐈𝐧𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐮𝐨𝐮𝐬 𝐇𝐨𝐭 𝐖𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐫 — 𝐌𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐏𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐫, 𝐌𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐅𝐥𝐨𝐰: Powered by a 65,000 BTU high-output burner, this unit heats water faster than lower-BTU RV heaters, delivering stable temperatures even in cold weather. With up to 3.9 GPM, it provides stronger flow and pressure than low-flow models, supporting simultaneous faucet use without drop-off. Higher BTU and GPM ensure longer, uninterrupted showers with fewer temperature swings. Precision control from 95°F–124°F and staged combustion improve efficiency, prevent summer overheating, and extend propane runtime—ideal for RV families needing reliable hot water.
  • 𝐄𝐚𝐬𝐲 𝐑𝐞𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐜𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭: Fits standard RV cutouts and replaces most Suburban & Atwood 6/10/12-gallon tank water heaters with a 12.8" × 12.8" opening. Exterior door not included; optional door kits (15" × 15", 15" × 18", or 18" × 18") sold separately.
  • 𝐄𝐧𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐝 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞: The upgraded multi-function remote provides real-time visibility into gas consumption, voltage, water flow (GPM), and anti-freeze activation, and is optimized for reliable performance at altitudes up to 9,800 ft.
  • 𝐒𝐚𝐟𝐞 & 𝐑𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞: Designed with a top-mounted exhaust fan to ensure stable combustion, plus flame failure protection with automatic gas shut-off. The integrated anti-freeze function activates below 42.8°F to protect internal components. CSA certified, with a built-in pressure relief valve included.
  • 𝐈𝐝𝐞𝐚𝐥 𝐅𝐨𝐫: Full-time RVers who need reliable hot water, campers who enjoy extended showers, Cold climate travelers who need freeze protection and families or multiple users who need simultaneous hot water use.
  • 𝐑𝐕-𝐑𝐄𝐀𝐃𝐘 𝐃𝐄𝐒𝐈𝐆𝐍 & 𝟏𝟐𝐕 𝐏𝐎𝐖𝐄𝐑𝐄𝐃: 12V DC powered system integrates with RV electrical setups and supports common RV plumbing connections — designed specifically for rv living and travel trailers.
  • 𝐎𝐱𝐲𝐠𝐞𝐧-𝐅𝐫𝐞𝐞 𝐂𝐨𝐩𝐩𝐞𝐫 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐃𝐮𝐫𝐚𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲 & 𝐄𝐟𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐲: Built with an oxygen-free copper heat exchanger, this RV hot water heater delivers fast, efficient heat transfer and long-term durability. The corrosion-resistant copper structure ensures reliable performance over time.
