Important for Winterizing
Reviewed in the United States on November 15, 2025We installed this on our motorhome this week and added our antifreeze today. It worked really simply. We didn’t understand why our motorhome didn’t already have this feature, but this one time installation makes the winterizing process much easier!

Works great if it is assembled correctly!
Reviewed in the United States on October 20, 2018This is a very handy little kit, and fairly simple to install, depending on how much room there is around your RV water pump once you find it. It shouldn't take more than 5-10 minutes to install IF it works when you try to use it! Unfortunately for me, after I installed it I couldn't get it to work. It simply would not suck the anti-freeze out of the jug! Troubleshooting took me an hour as I uninstalled and reinstalled it 3 times trying to figure out just what was wrong with it! It was very frustrating! I finally discovered that the one and only piece of the kit that was assembled by the manufacturer was missing an "O" ring! Once I removed the O-ring from the brass cap that came on the brass valve and moved it into the plastic siphon tube screw-on cap that replaces it, then the pump was no longer sucking air and it siphoned the antifreeze out of the jug just fine! After that, it was a less than a 10-minute job to winterize my camper! In future years this kit will make the winterizing job a very quick and simple job. If your camper did not come with a siphon tube and bypass valve already installed then I highly recommend this kit. It is not really needed, but Camco's website has a nice video showing you how to install this if you aren't completely sure.

No more antifreeze in the grease water tank
Reviewed in the United States on March 1, 2023Kit was well made and easy to install in minutes. Now I can pull direct from the bottle and only need one bottle to winterize my system. Without it I had to buy 2-3 and had to be on level ground in order to pull enough form the fresh water tank. The only think I don’t like is you can’t leave the suction hose on and have to swap out a cap to plug it but it’s it a big deal. I wish they would update the kit and just have some other ball valve to shut the suction line off. Overall great kit for very little which will save money in the long run since you’re buying less antifreeze.

A must every Rv or camper should install on the input side of water pump
Reviewed in the United States on January 2, 2014If you have a RV, trailer or any unit that has a waterpump in it, this is a must!!!!!!. The 2 way toggle that attaches to the input side of pump. You Then switch the toggle valve off the fresh water tank toward hose and pull RV antifreeze directly from the gallon bottle you buy at store for storing you unit before the winter. Simple follow install instructions that comes with package ( very easy to do for almost anyone)
Here is how I do my units***
Once installed simply move valve to direction of antifreeze hose. Make sure all facets are off before starting anything, turn on water pump switch in RV unit and I go to each cold water side of facuet**** till water/antifreeze comes out pink .....I do all cold side facets first.
NOTE*
You must ((((empty)))) hot water tank before storage every season or if water freezes in water tank or it will crack your 6 gallon tank and make you replace hotwater unit.
Once that is complete I allow just enough antifreeze to flow to tank and out of open plug where I see pink color and quickly shut off pump. Then I turn off Hot water by- pass switch most RVS and trailers have them standard past 10 years. If you do not have one on your unit they can be installed.
( if not I would have one installed Amazon sells that kit as well or you can just run enough antifreeze into tank to cover bottom where left over water will lie and freeze)
Once BY-pass to hotwater tank is switched over, then I go to each hot water facuet until The water comes through pink. Do toilets, showers even outside shower if you have one on unit. I use about 1 to 2 gallons of RV antifreeze a season
(ABOUT $10.00 worth to insure no frozen water lines, a small price to pay) I always allow enough antifreeze to come out of facuets to make sure the traps in drains are filled with antifreeze to cover them as well. Whole project to winterize your unit will take under 15min.!!! Its very easy for most to do and you will know its done fully by doing it yourself.

A must-have if you winterize your RV
Reviewed in the United States on December 21, 2021This year for the first time I find I'm in freezing temps and need to winterize my RV, only to find my water pump doesn't have a winterizing tube to allow the pump to suck anti-freeze in and pump throughout the rig. This nifty little kit lets you unscrew the intake hose and insert this into the inlet line, has a valve to direct fluid from the freshwater tank or the anti-freeze jug. Makes winterizing a breeze. Be sure to first use the valves on your water heater to bypass it, don't want to get anti-freeze into it. Then just turn the pump on until pink stuff comes out of every faucet and showerhead (outside shower too) and toilet flush. It's almost fun.
(About that title: Some people just open all their drain valves and use compressed air to blow water out of their system. This is the lazy way and often results in frozen and cracked water lines next spring. So if you need to winterize do it right with anti-freeze.)

Permanent Kit Still Requires Annual Connecting and Removing of Hose
Reviewed in the United States on May 4, 2023The kit was easy to install and worked great for winterizing, but, in the end, it did not gain us anything.
My daughter's camper required the hose from the fresh water tank to be removed from the pump and the hose for the antifreeze to be installed. Our camper has a bypass where I just need to turn the valve. Because of where their water pump is located, this Camco kit seemed like it would make winterizing much easier.
We installed the bypass kit and had no problems pumping antifreeze through the system. Not following the instructions to remove the hose and replace the cap on the bypass inlet, I left the bypass hose connected. Why wouldn't you leave it connected with the PERMANENT winterization kit?
HOWEVER, last weekend we discovered that, even with the valve in the open position, the bypass hose was still sucking a little air. We had to take off the hose and replace the cap on the bypass valve so the water pump would pull just water into the system.
In the end, we am no better off than where we were before installing this kit. The hose still needs to be installed and removed each year.

Reviewed in Canada on May 22, 2023Makes winterising an RV simple. The only issue is the push on hose needs a pipe clamp. Without it I found it sucked air into the water line rather than water. Frustrating but easy fix once you know.
