Great addition to the RV. Cost effective and accurate Battery gauge.

Excellent , simple , accurate unit
Reviewed in the United States on February 19, 2024Worked perfectly right out of the box. Nice heavy duty acrylic base and super heavy hardware. Simple operation is refreshing in this overly gimmicky app-inundated world we live in. Some other manufacturers could take notes from this monitor!
Others have said there is no way to secure it into your cutout if you can’t access the back. I can confirm that. However , a 2 1/8” hole saw produces a perfect fit in plywood. I didn’t need it but one could add a single layer of electrical tape around the perimeter for a super snug fit.
Yes, cord is too short. Ended up being just enough for my application. You can extend it without too much trouble. It’s a standard 5 pin JST-XH.
Battery sampling wire I used was 18awg. The screw terminals on top of the unit worked great. Philips, very small. Consider tinning the end of your wire and then smashing it flat and trimming it square for a good connection. 18 gauge is probably about as big as it will accept.
Even the backlight is great. When the backlight is turned off the screen still glows ever so slightly so you can read it. Perfect for nighttime in the woods. The screen is quite shiny so consider glare from windows when installing.
The accuracy of any monitor depends on your configuration! For my one year old AGMs I used 50% of the rated capacity and charged them up fully with a good 3 stage charger before connecting this monitor. Then set the current SOC to 100 and forgot about it. I set zero % SOC voltage to 10.1. Have a couple weeks camping in the RV so far with good results.

Easy to Install, Easy Initial Setup, Accurate Indication of State of Charge
Reviewed in the United States on May 3, 2021I installed this meter in my DIY portable solar generator that I recently retrofitted with four 3.2V 280Ah prismatic LiFePo4 cells after many years of using AGM batteries. Neither the solar charge controller or my simple voltmeter were able to measure amps in and out to provide an accurate indication of state of charge for the LiFePo4 battery. This current meter was easy to install, and if you follow the directions carefully, is easy to calibrate to the specific capacity of your battery. While it lacks Bluetooth connectivity, it is offered at a price point that makes it an exceptional bargain. The shunt is well made and appears to be of durable construction (I chose the 350A version). The meter is flush mounted and of very low profile. The function buttons work reliably and while the display options are quite simple, the information displayed is critical for clearly and accurately presenting the battery's state of charge, which is calculated as a value of remaining amp hours and as a percentage of total capacity.

A pain to set-up but works once done.
Reviewed in the United States on August 24, 2023NO INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS, I guess they want to save 1/4 cent on any. I had to go through the Amazon.com Q&A to find out how to make this work correctly. I was close to returning until a found out all the missing information. Attaching the small wire can be a delicate operation. I was able to order the special cables this needs since the bolts are bigger than standard battery cables but that is probably for the high wattage it can handle so that is not a problem but be aware. Hardware is pretty good quality. There is a similar item selling for slightly less but I am reviewing the one I bought.

Good value, seems accurate and is easy for non-technical users to understand
Reviewed in the United States on September 10, 2025Seems accurate. The shunt is made appropriately for what I expect will be long life. Relatively easy to program. As other mentioned, it seems a bit chintzy for the maker to not include a lead for the positive terminal, but to be fair, if you're wiring a shunt you'll likely already have light gauge wire and terminals laying around.
I used a 2.25-inch hole saw to cut out the hole for the gauge. It was too big and I had to wrap rubber electrical tape around the gauge to make up the difference. As others suggest in their reviews, a 2.125-inch hole saw is the correct size.
I left the display on the "gas gauge" setting so my non-technical users could understand the state of charge on a 200-amp hour lithium battery. The display is clear, readable and easy for non-technical users to comprehend.
I bought this on the recommendation of Will Prowse of Mobile-SolarPower and he's not not steered me wrong in his product reviews. This product offers good value for money for my particular use case.

Great value for the price!
Reviewed in the United States on July 21, 2020I bought this to replace the 1/3 2/3 full LED indicator that came with the camper that was not accurate and would change depending on how many LED lights I had on. I did some research and came across this meter at a great price. It took me about 3 hours to install this with one trip to the auto store for some connectors and extra 6 gauge wire, but the install was pretty easy and the instructions were good. The accuracy is good giving me the same readings as my volt meter for voltage and current. I like the piece of mind of being able to monitor my batteries without having to pull out the volt meter to get an accurate reading. Also at a glance I can easily tell if the batteries are charging or depleting. The setup was easy to set the Amp Hours of my system and when I plan to add a bigger battery bank in the future it will work just as well. I have used it on one trip since the install and have been using this meter to easily get good usage statistics of my system so I can plan how big my battery bank, and ultimately my solar, needs to be for full boon-docking without the generator. :) I'll try to remember to get some photos of the final install and update this review after a few more outings. Great product for the money!

helpful gadget
Reviewed in the United States on July 22, 2022simple tool to help monitor battery health. it gives discharging OR charging status, one or the other, not both at once. in the end, total Ah discharged is our main focus so we can learn our overnight consumption. have 2 200ah lifepo4 batteries from amperetime. easiest to set meter when batteries are new and fully charged for accurate display. as they age, resetting Ah capacity will be necessary to stay in ballpark of actual Ah capacity but that is to be expected of most basic battery monitors. the trickest part to get Ah IN from solar charge controller as well as see Ah OUT of the battery bank was to put the SCC and inveter cables for the negative side on the P- end of the shunt and NOT use a hopper from P- to the copper bus bar amperetime recommended when we paralleled our batteries. our battery negative cables are on the negative bar and all positive cables (SCC, Inverter and 2 battery lines) are on the postive bar but the meter would not count properly when SCC and inverter were on the neg bus bar. whatever...it works great now and we are pleased with our purchase. BTW, we use a victron 30a AC charger as a back up for when solar may not fully charge our batteries. in order to know exactly how many AH our 3 wk old batteries had, we discharged the bank to below 11v, (which was okayed by amperetime for testing purposes only), then one by one, we recharged with the victron to see actual Ah input to the batteries for accurate Ah capacity. after resting 12 hrs and good, close voltage we reconnected the pair in parallel and all has been working well to power overnight electric requirements and get fully charged by solar of the 40% discharged by mid day on roughly 220w max of solar charging by our renogy roverli40amp mppt charger.

Seems to work pretty well for what it is
Reviewed in the United States on January 16, 2020I've tested this for 24 hours so far using a 100AH AGM battery and a 12v security camera. It seems to do exactly what it describes, I can see the load/charge in amps down to .xxx of precision, volts to xx.xx of precision, and it appears to match the readings from my Fluke multimeter.
A nice bonus I think the ad is missing is that you can turn the led backlight mostly off (press and hold both arrow buttons) so it doesn't disturb you. It doesn't actually turn all the way off but dims about 90% of the light. You can still read it in the dark up close, but it's not a nightlight like it is when the backlight is on.
The spec sheet lists some power consumption specs but they didn't seem to match what the unit itself is measuring. I'm seeing a drain floating between 12 and 16 mA with the LED backlight on and 4 - 8 mA with the backlight off.
No memory for tracking load/charge on this unit but it does recall your battery config after being disconnected.
I guess over enough time it could take a little charge off your battery so I have a ground interrupt switch to open the circuit when I'm not using it, that should eliminate any issue there.

It gives a lot of important information fo a great price.
Reviewed in the United States on November 15, 2020I found this from watching a youtube video about battery management. I had considered buying a Victron, but the price was a bit steep.
Install was pretty simple using the wiring diagram included with the meter. If you can't read, or don't understand a wiring diagram, there are plenty of videos out the on how to hook it up. Mounting screws do NOT come with the shunt, so I bought #4 1" sheet metal screws and used those. It also doesn't come with a connection cable, I bought some 4 AWG cable and made my own, but you can buy them on Amazon premade, just make sure you know the length you need and size of your battery post. Both terminals on the shunt are 1/4", I think.
Shunt quality is outstanding and the meter is made out of plastic, but it is backlite and will do the job. The connection cable is to short to run very far, I bought a jumper cable off Amazon and plan to install the meter in my control panel in the RV.

Reviewed in Australia on January 7, 2023Works well, easy to install and having an extension cable for the display included is very handy. Provides more useful information than a simple volt meter, allowing you to understand what's actually going on with your battery system. Great for checking solar input

Reviewed in Canada on November 19, 2024Have had this unit now for a few years in a travel trailer with solar setup and it has performed flawlessly. Keeps track of input and output accurately, both in amps and voltage as well as reserve capacity remaining.
So far very pleased with it. Instructions were clear, installation was fairly simple for anybody with basic wiring skills. Comparable with more expensive units at a serious discount. Would recommend.

Reviewed in Australia on March 29, 2022Well made, easy to install and set up. I installed the monitor to be able to monitor new 120ah battery installed under the bonnet of my LC200 Landcruiser, working great. Would have liked the item to come with a temperature sensor (can be ordered seperatly). Blue tooth could be stronger only good for a few meters.

Eddie Foo5 out of 5 starsGood value meter for my portable camping lithium battery box
Reviewed in Australia on December 24, 2022I have researched and read reviews on different meters for lithium battery, come to the conclusion one must consists of a shunt to more accurately measure the capacity of a lithium battery, as most common voltmeters are only good for flood acid and AGM batteries. This budget-value meter gives me the ability to monitor my portable camping lithium battery box, as the built-in voltmeter on the battery is useless.
