Customers say

Customers find the diesel heater heats up quickly and maintains a steady temperature throughout the night, while being easy to use and install and offering good value for money. Moreover, the fuel consumption is minimal. However, the reliability receives mixed feedback, with some reporting it works well while others mention it stopped working after days of use. Additionally, the installation process requires basic understanding, and while some find it relatively quiet, others note it gets loud at higher levels. The temperature control system maintains steady temperatures, though one customer notes the thermostat is off by a significant margin. Customers report issues with carbon buildup, with the unit smoking out of the air intake.

Price point! Tremendous heat !
So far i’m extremely impressed with this Chinese heater. I must’ve read a thousand reviews like most folks and how too videos on installation tips. I could’ve gotten the same model for $20 less then the vevor, however the vevor had much better customer reviews when it came to contacting customer support for any issues. I’m far from being an engineer by any means but I’m pretty mechanically inclined and for anyone with a bit of common sense could rip one of these units down and put it back together in no time. I installed mine under the seat of my popup camper. It’s around 15 degrees out here and this thing has warmed up my little Coleman popup camper in about 45min to a comfortable i’m in my t shirt warm. Many folks mention the loud clicking of the fuel pump! YES IT IS, however it can be easily remedied with a couple simple modifications to your install. I wrapped mine in some foam rubber and mounted it inside a little styrofoam box I carved out of a packing box styrofoam chunk ! Anyhoot folks it works awesome. There’s a slow start and stop process as just like a diesel vehicle there’s a diesel type glow plug that needs to heat up and during shut down process it burns off any excess fuel, so VERY IMPORTANT, not to interrupt this process by cutting the 12v power supply or you’ll only cause yourself start up problems next time around. There are many YouTube tutorials and videos on installation and also on how to decipher instructions !!! I found many tips to be helpful in my installation. Also another important point. Make sure you pop your heater open and check that all bolts are tightened up including your glow plug. There aren’t many moving parts Or very much at all to these diesel heaters, in fact there pretty basic in operation, however it would truly suck to install your unit and run it only to find it wouldn’t start up or it runs, but you got a puddle of fuel laying underneath your unit after shutting it down. I read many of post with this very issue or watched people take them apart only to find that the head bolts were only hand tightened or even a glow plug that was basically just sitting in its seat, but not threaded all the way in.!!! Lmao I opened mine up and checked everything and all was good fortunately. Maybe mine was assembled on Thursday, who knows? Lmao Hope this helps anyone looking at this vevor 8k. I love mine. Next will be longevity. I’ll get back in about 6 months. 1/15/25 I’ve been running this heater nonstop since I installed it a couple weeks ago and it has run flawlessly. I’ve been changing the temperature settings up and down and also run it manual and by temperature setting. I have actually turned the heater off and on a few times with one shut down period lasting a day just to make sure there would be no restart issues. Again it operated flawlessly and restarted right up. I’m extremely impressed so far with this heater and believe it will serve its purpose of keeping my popup camper warm during cold camping.

I’ve owned and used this heater for 3 months now. I’ve gone through about 6 full tanks of fuel and feel qualified to comment on it.

This was a van install. No, not a camper van, a regular van. My air exchange box broke in my vehicle and it was stuck on A/C. Rather than spending upwards of $1000 to be fixed, I installed this heater in a day.

Basic understanding of installation is needed. Common sense is mandatory. YouTube videos fix at least one of those things. You will be cutting holes and tapping screws. In a vehicle install, it’s obviously crucial to have common sense around fuel lines and wires. With some time, patience, and planning, the install went flawless. The tank was installed behind a rear panel, fuel line (which was upgraded to a more stiff nylon) run under the carpet and trim then down through the floorboard at the passenger seat, hooked up to the fuel pump, then routed up back into the vehicle and the heater.

Build quality. Good. There’s always a slight “heated up plastic” smell, but nothing insane. This thing gets hot, hot. In the app, I’ve seen the sensor record internal temps in the mid to high 300°F range. It warms the vehicle up quickly. I chose to mount it on a stand which lifts it about 6 inches off the floor and installed rubber isolator pads between the stand and the vehicle to reduce vibration. Has worked flawlessly.

Over the winter, I remote started it every single morning for work with the Bluetooth app. As long as you have a clear shot to it, and aren’t more than 50-60 feet away, it fires up. You might get a “Failed” pop-up, but I typically close the app, try again, and it works.

For reference, in a morning where the internal temp of the vehicle is 20°F, on level 10, it takes about 15-20 minutes to hit 55-60°F which is plenty warm on a cold morning. I’ve never had an issue with battery drain and I’m running a standard starter battery. No AGM or Lithium.

I’ve used it camping as well, for a night at a travel stop on the way to Arizona in the beginning of January. I ran it on level 3 all night and woke up to still have 12.1V. Vehicle started no problem. Mind you, it dropped down to 16° that night, the inside stayed at a steady 59° which is completely reasonable with a warm blanket. You could obviously run it at a higher level and it will work, but it wasn’t worth the fuel and battery drain. All I needed to do was not freeze and be able to start the car in the morning.

I have had one issue one time. And I suspect it was a combination of my error and the machines capability. On level 1, when the vehicle is not running, it goes into Self-Test mode frequently, which typically means there is a voltage drop or the glow plug is not staying hot enough and needs to start again. I say this is partially my fault because I did not let the vehicle run long enough after I started it to top off my battery and then tried to run it with the vehicle off. Always change the battery for at least 15-30 minutes after starting if you plan on running the heater overnight with the car off.

Secondly, I say the heater’s limits because it really doesn’t like level 1 and 2. I think the burn chamber just doesn’t get hot enough on cold days to keep the glow plugs going and keep combustion ratios. So it cycles on and off, which is completely counterproductive when you’re trying to save battery overnight. Warming up the glow plugs pulls heavily on the battery and will drop your voltage down to 11.2V or so during start up. It bounces back, but needs a heavy draw. I’ve never had that issue on level 3 and higher. It maintains, and even though it seems like it would use more battery, it uses less because it’s stable.

There’s nothing to lead me to believe this heater won’t last a long time. I’m sure it will need maintenance at some point, but even that seems straight forward and simple enough. All of these heaters seem to fit the same, and that’s a good thing for parts and knowledge. Whether it’s an off brand or a name brand, you can expect the same fit and install procedures.

I’ll finish by saying, it’s relatively quiet. Yet, it gets loud at higher levels, but it’s a heater. It’s literally a combustion engine in a housing with a fan. It is not loud enough to disrupt sleep, and I actually prefer background or white noise. I really have nothing bad to say. The only thing is the physical wireless remote is bad. The button push feels like the entire thing is going to break apart. There’s flex and no real tactile feel. Maybe I just got a bad one, idk.

I would recommend to someone who understands what they are getting into and is not afraid to do a little research before jumping into the install, especially if in a vehicle. Go slow, think ahead, don’t cut corners, and you surely have a heater that will go the distance with you. It’s already paid for itself in one night of not needing a hotel room. Compared to the $20 of diesel I spent this entire winter and the initial purchase price, it would take me 10 years to add up to how much the original HVAC repair would have cost. I’m fine with that return, and you should rest assured that Vevor is an excellent brand. I have no regrets and will likely buy more in the future for different applications. If it can survive being beat up driving around the country, it can survive in a cabin, shed, garage, or just as an aux heater in the cold part of your house. Buy with confidence.

brand new heater didn't work after going through all the effort of installing and priming it the ignition plug was broken so it didn't work, but that's not why they get one star.... they get one star because they have garbage customer support. I have been waiting 12 days for them to send me the replacement part for this brand new heater I just bought. I go on their live chat everyday and no one can help me they all just say "our team is working on it and they will get back to your email as soon as possible" - terrible customer support on top of a broken product lol

I bought my first diesel heater from this company 2 years ago. During year 2 of service, it started generating a lot of white smoke during startup, and I couldn’t fix that issue even after taking it apart to clean and replace any parts that could be replaced. The maintenance kit was only $20, so it was worth a shot.

I bought this heater, which is an updated version of the one I got 2 years ago, and much the same price too. At $120, it’s very much worth it even if I do have to replace it again in 2 years. Overall, great heater with low operating cost ($60-70/month with heavy daily usage). 4 stars though because of various downsides listed below.

    Pros:

    - Automatic temperature control. I LOVE this new feature, which makes up for whatever shortcomings the heater has overall. It can turn itself on and off to maintain a set temperature! And once the desired temp is reached, the power and fuel consumption used to maintain temp are insignificant.

    - Quiet fuel pump. This pump is much quieter than the previous version! Putting some foam behind it dampens the noise further. I can hear it only if I look for the sound.

    Cons:

    - App. The user agreement, which is in mandarin and which is a pdf of only SOME of the agreement while the rest is cutoff and inaccessible (what??), clearly states that they intend to collect and sell your data. I value my privacy, so I’m not using the app. It’s kind of annoying to lose this functionality, but it seems it only replicates what the remote does anyway.

    - Controller. The controller can be used only when the heater is running. You can’t change any settings when the heater is off. Also, all your settings are reset if you lose power to the controller.

-Instruction manual. This thing is awful. There’s the usual poor translation, of course, but it also skips some important steps (like the fuel pump needing to be installed at an angle), and it’s very nearly useless in figuring out the controller. I had to search online to figure out various features available in the controller and how to use them. What garbage! It would be worth writing your own manual for future reference once you do figure it out.

Kept me warm this winter, I had bought the non Bluetooth version for my greenhouse. I had tomatoes in December! This one I added to my cabin living room. Bluetooth upgrade definitely worth it. Cut my all electric heating expenses in half.

The VEVOR 8KW Diesel Heater delivers serious warmth with impressive efficiency. Setup was straightforward, and once running, it maintained a steady temperature even in freezing conditions. The automatic features—like temperature control and timed operation—make it easy to dial in comfort without constant adjustment.

It’s quiet enough for overnight use and powerful enough for large spaces, whether you’re in a garage, RV, or tent. Fuel consumption is minimal, and the heat output is consistent. I paired it with a surge protector and fan-only mode rituals for added safety and flexibility.

Highly recommend for anyone building an off-grid comfort zone or upgrading their winter camping setup.
